I've judged it. It's just about perfect.

Hopefully someone knows of a car will give you an intro. Its a hassle to sell one another way. Too many cranks and flippers. I would only sell a car word of mouth to someone who would take care of it...

Thanks for the kind posts; please keep them coming! If you should know of a friend on the forum who has a true numbers-matching L84 car, I would appreciate an introduction just start a friendly dialog. Hoping that someone has a friend or forum member that may be just starting to think of a possible future new home for a car.

The forum has helped me meet many nice and knowledgeable people and you never know who may have a good thought, lead, or idea. All thoughts, introductions, and suggestions are appreciated

Oh, and a nice "thank you" case of your favorite beveage if your intor helps me buy a car....

I owned that car from 1985 to 1988. I was able to find the original owner in Chicago and compiled most of the owner history. He's done well and spent a lot of money and effort to achieve such high awards. I sold it to a retired electrician. I heard he had passed and the family must have sold it to the current owner.

I came close to buying that car many years ago from Chuck. As part of my search I talked with the original owner, a guy who bought it to drag race. Really a super car.

You sold it to Chuck McSheehy who was an electrician from Massachusetts. Among other Corvettes he had two 65 FI cars, a coupe and a convertible. He retired and moved to Florida in 2006 and passed away in 2015. I bought his convertible and this car is the coupe. Both cars came back to Massachusetts in 2016. He was a real Corvette guy that had a longtime passion for Rochester FI cars and he rebuilt the units for many years. Some lucky buyer will end up with this coupe.

Did Chuck get all of the awards or the current owner? I had it registered to take to Bloomington in 1987 as it had never been judged but it had an inch of clear coat. I was going to sand and respray but couldn't get my paint guy to hurry up and work me in. I think I read where it had a repaint in the 90's which makes sense.
Do you know the history on this car?

By what I see, this should be a serious contender.
Tim
I have tried to access Jim Gessner's website recently without success. Just wondering if folks here know anything about the current situation with Jim and his website.
Thanks

To my knowledge Chuck never repainted the car. Chuck redid the chassis and engine compartment in 2009 and had it judged at the Charlotte NCRS National in 2010 where it scored 98+. The current owner got the later awards. I believe he completely restored the original FI unit around 2009. He was a genius with Rochester FI units. My 65 was at the Greenville National in 2019 next to this car. We both judged very well at that event.

I just spoke with Jim for awhile on the phone.. He is alive and well, and working on renewing his website, in between holiday activities.... At this moment, the site is not functional.. He's hoping to have it back up and running within a couple weeks.

Thanks for that information. Glad to hear that he is o.k. and I'll keep trying the website periodically.

It sold to me. I am the new owner. I bought it a year ago, but I am selling it so I can get a '58. Thanks.
