1959 Restomod Conversation
I moved to a new house with less than half the garage of my last house. I sold my 66, 71, and 88. I kept my 2013 427. My dad is getting older and is getting rid of most of his cars and told me I’d be getting his 59. It was originally mine but that’s another story. I know I want to to a restomod conversion on the 59 when I get it back so I went ahead and sold the 2013 to help fund the project. I’m at a loss on which frame to go with and would appreciate any input.
1. Is the most common swap still an LS3?
2. Is the Tremek TKO 5 speed still the most common transmission?
3. I’m partial to a American Racing Torq Thrust type wheel. (Something with a little depth) I really don’t care for a completely flat C6 type wheel that I usually see.
4. I’m looking for ride comfort over performance.
Thanks for helping me make a more informed decision.

^^^ modern wheels look as out of place on a C1 as 15" hubcaps would on a late model.

Drive over to Seguin, TX and talk to Billy Dawson, owner of Corvette Correction.
