While on our Corvette at carlisle SACC convention trip , I counted 25 c1 corvettes in the lot , Now i ask How many are on this forum .share name and car in post please .
for sure in two days the heat and many other factors of a trip meeting everyone is impossible ,
a morning hotel breakfast before coffee was enough time to eat , then off to the fair grounds it was . most of us scattered . the carlisle country club dinner was a great meeting place ,
meeting c1 owners from across the country in person having the chance to look at same year cars how the may differ ,
running into Jim Glass in hotel was nice tells me how long ive been toying with corvettes . seeing the Texans doc Hollida as well as two people who drove in in their C1s also stuck in my mind ,
our 61 as it still looks dog dish black walls
a blue 61 had some alternator trouble a single wire alternator let go I wished the bracket i used to haul around in my truck was still there , But one comment of all the crap we can haul around in our trucks stopped that , anyway a few of my thoughts post sacc event share you names and stories

My wife and I drove her '62 (restorod) from NC (436 miles) and parked in the SACC area. She received a Celebrity Choice award from Rick Trawick from Second Chance Garage.

I drove the 56 to the SACC natls in Bowling Green in '10 Only 18 cars showed up---------------------very disappointing! The SOCAL SACC club often has 50 cars in attendance.
At a national SACC event, I would have expected a lot more cars to show up.
Kind of deflated my enthusiasm for SACC events.
I did a LOT of cleaning and preparation for the event.

Fred Kokaska, SoCal SACC. Forum: SDVette, 1961 Ermine White/Jewel Blue interior
Here are Bob (also SoCal SACC) and me getting our "Iron Man" awards for furthest driven to the event.
(we missed the SACC banquet dinner because our Texas pal (Blue 61) broke down on the highway that afternoon!)
That's me on the right.
P.S. I drove to his house 5 miles away, then we left for Carlisle together... Just so you know who drove further!
DZ, our SoCal events don't draw as many as in the heyday... But we still muster 30-35 cars at a tech session or cruise.
TachDrive: That was us drilling the alternator bracket in the hotel parking lot for the Blue '61!!!
That repair DID HOLD.. but I understand he developed a leak at the waterpump on his trip home..... (we separated from the Texas group after Little Rock)

one year while having my top done at the al knock tent i watch Dan Steel come over crawl under a c2 and replace a lower control arm . hope I have his name correct ,
driving your c1 corvettes that far was fantastic
I hope Bobs car fared ok I know he did .
My driving trip partners speedometer blew up on our trip home , we tested our wipers in some heavy rain , Fred what was the best mileage you managed ?
I saw you car was automatic and would think it may have 308 gears or 355 set bob said his 60 had the five speed .

Bob was doing well over 20 MPG with his 5 speed.

I was also at the SACC convention, Paul Lemieux, white 59 with hard top. Four of us drove from Michigan, including a 54 whose owner is 81. Drove home in one day, 10 hr drive, was glad to get home after that drive. No A/C so the heat was a big factor.

I finally joined SACC, good people. I brought our 58 to Carlisle where it won its second Celebrity Award. I felt like a proud parent. My son brought his newly acquired 77 and we had a great time in spite of Thursday’s terrible heat. Mike

Notice how many shades of white among the 6 cars.
