Default Floor Mat Grief, Ugh!

Last year I bought a new pair of these clear vinyl floor mats from Corvette Central ($70) because I wanted that retro style look and they do look nice.

But they don't have the little rubber nubs on the back. They're smooth as glass so they're constantly sliding all over, plus the vinyl is pretty thin so the upper half always flops over under the pedals so I'm forever trying to kick them back up into place while driving, which can be pretty frustrating. In short, they are real crap. Anyone else experience this? I've had them a little too long to return.
If you've found a source for a better quality clear vinyl mat can you share it here please?
Cheers, Greg

The originals were smooth also but they were thicker and I don’t know if it’s because they’re old but they stayed in place and they held their shape better than reproductions, repro are really bad and I don’t think there’s anyone making them except one company.

I used this on my drivers side mat. Affixed the tape to the vinyl heel pad in the carpet the set the mat in and pressed it down. So far so good!

I like Lloyd’s mats, not Corvette but has nubs, cheap and durable.

I just got mine from Al Knoch, they are smooth also so they do slide some. I like them though, done right, good quality.

I have the same problem. I have had them for a long time and don't remember who I got them from.

I briefly thought about using double sided tape but didn't want to risk ruining my new carpet set when removing the mats for cleaning.
However, I had not considered using it on the heel pad. great idea ettev, thanks!

I have had three sets of these in three different cars. After getting used to them I subconsciously altered my foot applications and movement. Honestly it is no longer an issue. Not much of a response and no excuse for the condition, but perhaps it may help some.

Plus, if you use that Nano tape it comes off with no residue left behind. Any brand of it should work.
