[C2] StopLeak for rear main seal ?

It doesn't seal small gaps wherever the oil flows. The sealant only rejuvenates the dried or leaking seals, and effects nothing else. By safely swelling the rubber [but not over swelling], the seals work better.
It pours like water, it's not the thick stuff that blocks everything, like they used to sell.

I used this in a pesty rear main seal leak in a fresh Mopar 440 and could hardly believe how well it worked. I was not expecting much but was really amazed at the results.

I used a similar material on a leaking Honda automatic trans a decade or more ago and it worked like a charm for years until the car was sold.

Great results with other Lucas products
My 82 Mercury Grand Marquis de Sade automatic would not shift when cold. Per advice from transmission shop, put in Lucas additive and it fixed problem! Saved ~$2k
Same with power steering leak-Lucas cured it.
I've tried at least a half dozen times to stop leaks on the 60 thermostat housing-will try some stop leak with that. Tired of finding antifreeze pooled up at intake bolts (which I have also tried to seal)
I will now try that Blue Devil for a persistent rear main leak (yes, I did change out the rear main oil seal)
My back has been screwed up since an incident in 2013, and I haven't had a pain free day since then. Every trip under the car brings bad consequences, so I am very open to alternatives!

Blue Devil Pro
Put this in my 1996 Honda Accord 154,000 miles on it leaking oil out of rear main seal. It stopped it completely, great stuff.
I'll be honest though I wouldn’t use it in 1967 corvette, that engine is to precious, I’d replace the seal if it were leaking, but for my beater Honda I use to drive to San Francisco and park up there it’s not worth the cost of replacing the rear main seal.
I used the Blue Devil Pro, it seals the whole oil system, 12oz bottle $25.00 it’s a blue liquid.

Burning Brakes
I Have used them on lawnmowers with good results. I got it at Auto Supply but I do not remember which one. They state on the bottle that they do not cause any harm to your lubricating system. It looks like they use microscopic particles that only bind with each other or gasket material and they collect at any leak and build up until the leak stops.

.......
"The Seal Expander formulation contains a combination of ester and phenol additives. The chemical combination swells, softens and rejuvenates the physical properties of a dried and hardened seal"
I tried this product on an alloy V8 with a main seal leak and .... voila; no more leaks.

I tried the Lucas product in my 427 and it worked a little. Any thoughts on trying one of the others mentioned after the Lucas didn't work so well? Thanks

Blue Devil
The answer to that question is it’s a one time application. Just got off the phone with a representative from Blue Devil in South Carolina and he said you never use it again, oil change after oil change. One & done is what he said.

You can give them a call, naturally their going to say yes it will seal it. First of all explain what a Muncie transmission is, the Muncie was made probably before they were born. Actually they were very nice on the phone. Here’s the number 1.888.863.0426

No. No seal to soften and swell except the rear seal....and if it's leaking you probably have a worn out drive shaft yoke.
Muncie's leak from the countershaft pin at the front of the case. The cure is to re-bush the case. An effective repair can be to slide the trans back, apply silicone or gasket maker or a thin piece of rubber to the front of the trans where the shaft is, and bolt it back up. The leak will be fixed. Sometimes side cover shift seals leak and the side cover gasket can leak, but 95% of the time it's the front countershaft at the case.

Well I put Blue Devil Rear Main Seal sealer in my '66 and then drove it 118 miles. It's still leaking but I don't believe as much as before. I will continue to monitor it and keep you posted.
Thanks for all the replies.....
