Attention Chrome bumper guys: Need new chrome?
I will soon be looking around to get my bumpers rechromed. Would there be any interest by CF members in getting together for a group purchase? If there is enough interest shown here, as I call around to various shops for prices, I will mention that there are a significant number of Forum members interested too. Perhaps some of the shops would offer discounts for volume business?
Any recommendation as to trusted Chrome shops that any of you have dealt with or know others that have dealt with?
Thanks.
E-mail me or post here if you're interested. I'll start checking around after the holidays.

Still trolling for interested parties.....
With enough interest shown here, we can show what leverage the forum has.
Maybe this could persuade some chrome shops to give us a $$$ break for the promise of some volume business.
Anyone else in for shiny new bumpers, or have a favorite shop?
Thanks.

Had Paul's Chrome (located in PA) do mine back in the mid 80's....blindingly beautiful. I waxed them etc., but since my car is a very frequent driver they started to need some attention in '94-'95. I emphasize the word "started". I talked to them, brought the rears to Carlisle, showed my original reciept and they redid them no charge. Beautiful again! Great work and perfect customer service.

Lemans, funny you should mention this, I just got my bumbers back today. :yesnod:
Based on a couple of recommendations from vette owners around here, NC, I gave mine to Tri City Plating in Elizabethtown, TN. They did an excellent job on my 67 bumpers. Triple plating that look showroom new, and they fixed the dents in them, they look great!!!
Their number is 800-251-7536. $185 for each front and $195 each for the rears.
Good luck,
Rob

I would be inteested. My bumpers look to have never been done and in need. I wasn't planning on doing them right away but if we can get enough interest to get the price down....

Add My name to your list. If the price & quality are right I'll make the extra effort to get the bumpers off the car even though it's in storage.

Kid,
I've been lurking around...Carly was nice to us and gave us the whole week off! She is even letting us take the first week of Jan off as well :D Such a giving lady
I've been trying to finish the house so I haven't had a bunch of time to drive the car. I did get engaged  (8 years together and she didn't put up a fight with the Vette purchase so I knew I had a keeper) Now all I have to do is find a new house with some property to build my four car garage :) A slot for the toys, one for the Vette, one for the MG and another for the 100/4. After the 100/4 is found I can have my 2.5 kids and die a happy man!
Hope you had a merry Christmas
ps still looking for my date coded lug nuts

Re: Attention Chrome bumper guys: Need new chrome? (Kid_Again)
I'd like to get all four redone. But I don't know, The right sidepipe has some pin holes and is getting kinda noisey. Lets see now shiney bumbers or a quieter Vette. Have to check with Momma Mimi (wife), and the checking account. And then theres the power antenna. Then there's the knock-off wheels I'd really like to have a set of them. I could remorgage the house, what aguy won't do for his second love, a Corvette Stingray I guess I'll have to get second job maybe even a third.  ;) If you get a group price from Paul's I'm interested. He done work for me in the past and has alway done nice work plus he's only 30 minutes away from were I live

I would be interested too. All the way around for me, I have large chunks missing on the front.
Of course my electrical problem will have to take priority but hopefully that wont be too $$$$
