Sure thing. Here is old pics but still what it looks like. I also got a box of parts that includes the Radio/Distro Shielding.

Sharp car. I like the looks of the wheels they way they are now. Those are some great looking hubcaps. If those are original, those are the best looking hubcaps of all the C2s.

those are the factory 66 hub caps. and I am not a fan haha. They will probably be the first thing replaced other then fixing gauges. I will say they are original, and in VERY good condition.

some 235 or 245s, on something like this https://www.americanracing.com/produ...iamond-cut-lip

If it is original carpet and has no hole or terrible wear I would keep it a dye it in place. Nothing usually fits and looks better than original factory installed carpet.

Congratulations! Looks like a great platform for you to mod and make it your own. What are you thinking about for paint?

Congrats from a fellow ‘66 lover and Huntsvillian. Good chance we’ll eventually cross paths. You’ll find a surprisingly strong Huntsville C2 presence here. I also enjoyed making my ‘66 to my liking also. Huge source of knowledge here. Welcome

Thanks to everyone's responses.
looking forward to expanding my knowledge.

color wise I am leaning to electron blue (think C5Z) or something like that. Have seen pics of a c2 done in something similar with black wheels thats sharp (I don't want all black wheels though or to black out my chrome) Like the hooker header look for side pipes where you can see the collector. Not the factory style. Between paint, wheels, side pipes. The rest can be mostly original. Cleaned/ replaced. & made functioning for a cool looking hot rod/ time machine. & want the AC working ha. Fat guy in Alabama problems ! Ha

This is a similar color to what I am thinking. But with Chrome bumper and trim still not blacked out.
Chrome Hooker sidepipe
and a Black center wheel with chrome/polished lips in the 17 or 18 range. and have the car sitting maybe 1 inch lower.

Color wise

WHeel wise something like this

I don't even know if I would paint it. I would probably go through it mechanically and just have fun with it.
I think it looks good the way it is.

As my dad said its very photogenic. the paint is peeling all over, almost looks like its sliding off the car in some places. He has painted a few cars back in the day so it may get stripped and block sanded and a paint job from the house to make it more presetable for the next few years of working though issues, and repairs and stuff.

not some crazy 10k show paint. But also not some hack job. Just clean paint with nice clear that's not flaking & a new color would go along way. Below was his 65 GP, & a 76 Elcamino he did back when I was younger. Who knows I also have 2-3 paint buddy's so feel I can get decent paint on it for not to much trouble. More the prep then anythjng. But long way from that. Want to get all gauges working & replace some rubber parts.

Here is 2015 Laguna Blue. I looked at those 510 wheels as well.

The Laguna blue is nice as well!

the problem I am finding with American Racing VN510s... is 18X8 not 7s... so not sure I can fit those with stock fenders. Off set trailing arms? maybe it seems its hit or miss. and they don't make them in 17X7

You acquisition sounds a lot like mine except mine is a 65 and the purchase happened 44 years ago! L79 coupe, 4 speed, 3.70, factory air, crappy paint, original tired interior and the odd aftermarket gauges stuck in original dash. I kept mine looking pretty much original except no front bumpers (came that way) until a few years ago. Finally pulled the motor and stored it, built a 500+hp 406, 5 speed, and added triple tail lights. Put 7" wheels on the back with low profile tires front and back and cut a coil out of the front springs.

Good luck with your and enjoy the ride.

Stop, just stop. Let the man enjoy his car the way he wants to.

To the OP, congrats on a good buy and welcome! You'll find tons of useful people and knowledge here.....and some of the above . I also found my way over here from the C5/C6 side of the house years ago and never looked back.
