Default 1962

Is there a section within NCRS that I can contact to research past ownership/history of our Vette? Production date was 4/5/1962, original delivery was Dealer Code 331 in Zone 26, dealer name/address was Mayes Chevrolet, Pompano Beach, FL; VIN; 20867S109336, Ermine white exterior, Red interior, 327/340, 4 speed. We purchased the vehicle in December, 1989 from the Toy Store in Ham Lake, MN. Previous owner had passed away and his family sold it to the store. When we bought the car we were not given any details on the previous owner at their request. A sticker on the windshield, pass side is from "The Number 1 Team Chevrolet Bay City MI; #0973", owner was possibly a salaried employee with this type of sticker. Thank you

In a word No. Most DMV's purge their records after so many years, each state is different. Since you have had it since 1989 I doubt your state has any record prior to that. Maybe with the digital age future generations will be better off but I doubt it. Just had a friend check a title search in his state from 8 years ago and was told they purge their records every 7 years.

This would indicate that the previous owner would rather not be found. IMO, that request should be honored.

Got any photos of your 62? I posted in hopes of finding someone that might have some info on the car, but also on the decal that was on the windshield.

I have a friend at the DMV who is going to do some checking for any information. Its sad that most states have purged this info.
