Default 1967 coupe coil wire replacement

Hello all,
It's been awhile since I posted here.
As the title says, I need to replace the black coil wire on my coupe.
Is there a way to do it without removal of the distributor?

Any help will be appreciated.

Regards,

If you mean the wire from the points to the coil (-) terminal, then no, there's no practical way to change it without pulling the distributor. That wire passes through the bottom of the distributor housing in a thick grommet, and the opening is located under the breaker plate. It's almost impossible to lift the breaker plate without pulling the distributor main shaft out of the housing, and that means it's gotta come out. The biggest PITA is getting the shielding off. After that, pulling the distributor is easy.

Thank you for your response.
I was afraid that this would be the answer.
I was hoping there was a "short cut". 😊
I have connected a new clip to end of the wire (points end).
I used a self solder heat shrink connector, but am having issues with it.
May just explore an electronic ignition system.

Thanks again.

Regards,

Thanks again.
