Windshield Wiper Coordinator
My wiper motor is missing this round part called a coordinator. Does anyone know it’s function? Is it part of the washer system?

Yes, you need it to make the washers work. It supplies vacuum to the that plastic looking switch to get it moving for the wiper motor. Those are hard to find and costly but maybe try Ebay. When you push that small button on your wiper switch it puts things in motion for the water squirters.

Probably the reason it was taken off is that it quit working.. I bought a NOS one, but was told that there is no guarantee that it will still function... They were pretty poor systems.

The entire mount is not usable. If you definitely want to go with a coordinator, you will need a complete mount, and plastic actuator for coordinator,, your actuator appears broken.

Thought I had everything to make this work, but I still need this tie down marked in the pic. Anybody got one or know where I can get it?

Thanks for the info, guys, however if someone could show me a picture of this by itself, I could probably make it. Doesn’t look complicated, could probably whittle it out of a chunk of plastic.

You might want to check your coordinator with a Mityvac and gauge to make sure the diaphragm is ok. I rebuilt a 61 washer system a few years ago and boy what a painful contraption it was.
I might have one of those little clamps in a bag of wiper parts in my shop. My '59 didn't have washers but had that coordinator mounted on the motor and I took it off about 30 years ago.
I'll check when I get down there after another coffee.

In Stock. Free shipping!
PM your mailing addr and I'll USPS one to you later today. I'm going there anyway to send Pat in CA something too.
I forgot I had all this stuff.
This is what the innards of the coordinator look like. I rebuilt one from this stash for that 61 I did a few years ago.
They typically don't hold vacuum because the rubber diaphragm lip on the black plastic plunger goes dry. Cleaning the cylinder and some silicone grease does the trick IIRC.
