Update on my restoration of my brothers 67 L71
Just wanted to touch base and give you all an update and maybe get some more helpful knowledge. I've got the body finished and 3 coats of urethane primer, working under the dash, installing insulation prepping to get wiring harness installed. I did get a new harness after trying to restore the original but not feeling comfortable using it. Gonna be finishing the frame so I can put them together again. I incl some recent pics. Any guidance is appreciated.

Looking good. Wish I had your paint talent. I guess I missed your first post. Sorry to hear about your brother. I’m sure he would be proud of all the work you have done. I sent my brother’s out for the paint and body. Keep us updated as you go along.

Good progress! It's a big boost when you turn the corner from taking things apart, to putting them back together again!

Ain't that the truth. It's also good to have it one color again. I have been putting things together before painting because most of this stuff my brother took apart so I didn't get to see how it worked but im getting there. I hope to have it together by July or August.

Great progress! What did you go with for the new wiring harness?

Beautiful. Sting Rays almost look better in primer than in paint.

September update.
Well it ain't done. Have had some hip problems and m thyroid removed. The body is real close to being ready for paint so I've been working on the chassis, it's mostly done, I've got to check all points for cotter pins and brake lines are all good, then I need to install the spare tire case and get the alignment as close as possible. I'm hoping to set the body on in a week or two, wish me luck.

I'm sure getting back to work on the car helps your morale after dealing with the health issues. You made the right call on replacing the wiring. I keep waffling on whether to get a new original-style set for the '64, or the upgraded type which has more safety features, modern fuses etc, but requires adaptation on a couple items when i go to put it in.

Glad yours went in with no problems. You will sleep easier knowing the car does not have 50+ year old wiring.

November update
Well the body and frame are reunited. Oct 17 I had a couple folks from our local NCRS group and some of my regular buddies came over and helped put things back together. Everyone was great help. Here's a couple of picks of the day. I'm still working steady on it but it always takes longer than you think.
