Well I took the car out today to test a whole bunch of things. One of them being the aftermarket AC. The blower that's inside the car seems very loud and I'm getting little air flow out the ducts. As loud as that blower is I would expect it to be coming out of the ducts like a leaf blower. Wfh?

Tom: Something has to be wrong. My VA system will blow my hair back and numb my hand if I rest it on the shifter. Sounds like a door may not be fully closing or opening in the air box. If the ducts were compressed, it should only affect one or a few outlets at most. Could a duct hose have fallen off the box or vent? Jerry

Did you open the airflow cable pull?

I stuck my hand up there and I don't feel any air leaks at all. BTW, I did call Vintage Air and Mark has got a few things for me to check. Excellent support !

Tom if you could supply that p/n for the modified surge tank (65 coupe) would like to order it .
Thanks

Chalie, I sent them an email to set it up. Might take a few days as new part numbers are often low priority

Tom, thanks for the follow up if you have a contact person at the AFCO company I could follow up with that may be helpful so I wouldn’t have to bother you?
I’m collecting the parts for my v/a install hopefully after I go thru NCRS top flight again & then things like V/A & Power window are on my list of add on’ s for 2021.
thanks again..

Just call DeWitts main number first (517-548-0600) and ask for John. He can hook you up. The call may bounce to Afco, and you get Jason or someone else.

I had to pull the end cap off of the plenum to reach inside. The doors have rubber edges on them and they can stick sitting in the warehouse. Of course they tell you it's because you have the case bound up but miraculously after I pulled on the door everything worked. The servo motors don't have enough grunt to get past this by their self.

I think that's next but holy crap. It took me a couple hours to get those flex hoses on and now I have to take them off. Please tell me the end cap pops right off?

It has a few philips head screws and pops right off. I didn't take my ducts off. I may not have put the top screw back in. I learned on the first one to do a trial run of all functions before I install the AC now.

Did you think the fan was loud before you fixed it? I assume it got quieter?

The fan is loud. It's been 6 years now but before I got finished trouble shooter no mine I was fairly proficient with them. My problem was when I changed from floor to dash or defrost the air wouldn't change. I checked everything and even changed out the control. He may still be there but there was one tech in particular that was very good. After we had gone over and over everything he said pop the end off and check the door. Just like you I said man I don't want to fight that but it wasn't too bad. Then I had issues with the evaporator freezing up. I fought it and fought it. I figured out with a convertible I had too many leaks from outside which makes the AC sweat really bad and it would freeze up. I did the evacuate and recharge thing. All I had to do was slightly move the cool selector off of wide open. I still need to fix the external leaks. But I only use the AC when I go out of town.
