"Long over due"? Maybe to you! Those of us who come from the glory days of this car hobby thrived on many of these magazines. Our Heroes like George Barris, Don Garlits, and so many other like minded folks came to us from the pages of these magazines. Yes, todays "Buy and Bolt" hobbyists deserve praise for their love of our favorite vehicle, but to offer scorn towards the past and the Roots that got us here is ignorant. Al W.

I get Super Chevy, Chevy HP and Vette from the list. Don't see Corvette Magazine listed. I have noticed over the years that the magazines get thinner and thinner.
If this is good info, nothing yet from the publishers. I also doubt I will see any refund from long term paid subscriptions.

Shame to see...Two of my cars made into the VETTE publication pages...The '64 on the cover and the '59 as a feature article...I still like to read the hard copies...Especially in the "loo"...... "The times they are a'changing"...

I was very disappointed to read about this yesterday on yenko.net. It's not a surprise, however it's a bit of a shock to see 19 titles get axed in one fell swoop. I am only 40, but have been obsessed with cars since before school-age and still have 99%+ of the car magazines I ever got (plus the collections of a few others that have been handed-down to me). I learned to be a better writer, collector, and mechanic from them. Due to the competing priorities of family and business life, I don't buy as many as I used to. But I will never part with the ones I have.
The problem with digital versus print magazines is that you can't collect digital. You can't possess the contents, physically or psychologically.
I'll be going to Barnes & Noble tomorrow to pick up the last Car Craft and MCR tomorrow for sure, and reading them with a heavy pour of Maker's Mark to remember the good times.

I guess going digital is the answer, So I guess if you have a car that is featured in a digital on line magazine you frame the "link".

I received Super Chevy yesterday. Chevy High Performance was not delivered.

I take 3 of those and look forward to receiving them every month. Shocking and disappointing is right. Our local newspaper (the Arkansas-Democrat Gazette) is discontinuing print editions except on Sundays. But you can subscribe to the electronic edition and they provide the iPad to read them on as part of the subscription price. But it's not the same and their politics are definitely shifting and I may just have to drop them.

I subscribe to about a dozen car magazines. I enjoy reading them and then I put them up on EBay for $7 an issue.
Three of the magazines I get are on that list so, in addition to losing some reading enjoyment, I will take a financial hit <LOL>.

The year was 1965.
I finally took some of my newspaper delivery money and asked my parents to write a check for me in exchange for the cash.
I was 12.
I sent the check and began THE WAIT.
Then one day I came home from school and there it was.
The first issue of my subscription to Car Craft Magazine!
Read the entire magazine 3 times before dinner.
Read it again and again until the next issue arrived.
Same drill as previous issue.
I continued to subscribe until well after I got my drivers license and my first car,
But it just wasn't the same.
The cars in the magazine and a car that I could afford were worlds apart.
Soon after the Car Craft affair simply died.
As an adult, Car and Driver took over the empty space.
Then Hemmings, Auto Week and Automobile.
Soon Corvette Fever, Vette, Vette Vues and Corvette.
Now, just Corvette and Hemmings.
It is sad however to see them go,
Would I or many of you become the rabid car guys and gals that we are without such magazines?
An earlier poster spoke of some of today's folly that can be found in some of them, and that certainly contributes to their demise.
Certainly though, these computers we sit in front of are the guilty parties.
I guess some magazines will go digital and maybe all will be well.................................... .....
I NEVER will forget the way I felt when those first few years of Car Craft came to my mailbox..........
MAGIC!
My condolences to the passing of the print.
