Default Oregon License Plate - Determining Year of Issue

Recently bought a Maroon on Maroon 65 396 Roadster that was located near Portland Oregon. Other than the period between 2010 and 2015, when it was in Utah, it is believed the car spent all of it's time in Oregon. I have sent in for the Shipping Report but while waiting for that to arrive, I started to wonder if anyone happens to know which Oregon license plate letters were issued for which years in the 60's? For the California Black/Yellow plates, it's fairly easy to associate certain letters with certain years, maybe someone from Oregon can tell me if the plate in the pic could have been original issue in 1965.
Thanks,
Mike T - Prescott AZ

IF you peeled that "78" sticker off, wouldn't the "year of issue" be stamped into the metal? Cruz

In CA, the stamped number would have the first year introduction of the plate. MT

I thought the plates might have an original year of manufacture stamped into them like I used to see in California plates but here's a pic of the backside and no stamping seen.

That plate was first issued in Oregon around 1965. I got mine just like yours in 1966 for my 63. In 1963 the Oregon plate was Pacific Wonderland and had a yellow outline around the blue plate. Might be off a year but close.

Some folks have been known to find a plate that they like because of color combination, condition, numbers present, etc and simply buy the desired year stickers on Ebay. They assume, probably correctly, that few LEO's know what plates were actually used in the 50's or 60's.

Thanks guys for the feedback. I'll report back when I get the shipping report but it is looking like it was originally an Oregon Car.
Last Friday when the Reliable Transport truck arrived and we offloaded the 65, there happened to be a very sharp looking Black 68 442 Convertible over at the gas pumps.
The white tape and yellow microfiber towel were put on when the PO installed the hardtop.
