Gasser's
Want to see a show of hands who like the old school gasser's from the 60's. I recently went and watched the Southeastern Gasser's when they was close by, actually went twice.. After being around the restomods for yrs, these are the first cars that have gotten me excited in a while. The Sega goes have their own set of rules and try to keep it pre 1967 era. I'm thinking I need to build one and go play with them as much as I can. I like the idea as the cars are simple to build and cost other than drivetrain could be fairly cheap compared to a ncrs and restomods being built today.

I think they are really cool, and real screamers at the track. In '66 or '67 I went to the Gas Coupe & Sedans National on Long Island, NY. The best of the best raced! Dennis

How about James Hayes, blown and injected, 540ci Chevy in a stock wheelbase, ’58 Corvette. The Ohio based racer struggled In qualifying at the 2019 Holley National Hot Rod Reunion over Fathers Day weekend, but put on a heck of a show with every pass.

Just another Corvette guy
COPO,
Funny you mention this. I've followed a couple straight axle gassers in the last 7 or 8 months, that have been for sale on other forums I frequent. I need one like I need an antler growing out of my head, but if the right one pops up I just might grab it. Could be a lot of fun for a season. This little Falcon popped up on the AACA and if it wasn't on the other coast, I think I'd already own it.

I went last year when they raced my local track - Paradise Drag Strip in Calhoun, GA. I know some of the racers. They have SERIOUS coin in those drivetrains....They try to make it look 60ish era...but, have five figures alone in the third member I have been told. BIG MONEY if you want to be competitive.

Anyone interested in one? This one has been for sale for quite some time. No affiliation.

I sold some frame parts to the person who was originally restoring this 56' bad blood. I think he sold it to someone who finished the project. I guess this gasser used to run in Bakersfield.

Not going to break any records with my restored 62 but it sure is fun on the street. Still working the bugs out of the injection but getting there. It's a goof but it will still blow the doors off my ******.
