Default Quick Question: What is this for?

I had the C2 up on the race ramps and I found this disconnected 'ground' on the right side of the block. What's it for? It's probably been hanging like that for a while.
Thanks, Wayne

Goes from the motor mount to the frame engine mount. If you have a AIM look under RPO U69

What is its function? What's it there for?

Ground strap for the radio. Just like all the others through out the car. Not a electrical wizard so not sure why it’s needed for the radio operation.

It's one of the grounds for the motor. The piece of the motor mount that mounts to the engine is isolated electrically from the piece that mounts to the frame by the rubber in the mount itself. This completes the circuit from the frame to the engine. There are quite a few of them around the car.

Thanks, good to know its not for anything important. I hardly use the radio, I listen to the music from the side pipes.

Now I'm confused [anything electrical confuses me]. What, if not the radio, is this disconnect affecting? Everything in the car seems to be working OK.

It's a ground for noise suppression on the radio that is on the engine, there is one on the throttle linkage, one on the exhaust, and I don't remember where the rest are. You're fine.

On the frame bracket that the motor mount bolts into there is probably a 1/4" hole where the ground strap attaches. Because of the fiberglass body there are grounds everywhere that could cause any resistance to ground.

How that effects the radio I don't know except to keep the spark plug cadence from playing through the speakers.

All of these radio grounds were for interference for AM radio back in the day.
