New To Me
hi all, i posted an introduction but thought i would also cross post here.
thanks to all great info here and the generosity of the folks local to me i
finally found a car.
it's a 67 coupe, green/green, NOM, air, pb, ps, and a/t. the car originally
had rally wheels but i'm not sure about the side pipes. i'm still trying to
figure out what i've got here.
it's in remarkably good condition all things considered. it runs fairly well,
no major rattles, squeaks, shakes or knocks and so far i haven't found any real
rust anywhere. but being 52 years old it does have some issues that i'll need
to address.
i've joined the national and state NCRS and my local club, bought a shop manual,
service manual, and the '67 assembly manual. of course i'll need to rely heavily
on the folks here. i've got a really steep learning curve ahead of me so please
be patient.
thanks, frank

Gorgeous coupe, congrats!
These old cars always need something, but are a blast to drive and tinker with. My ‘66 is a NOM car (along with “major trim tag violations” hahaha) and that takes the stress out of ownership. In other words, it’ll never be judged and I don’t care.
Please be sure to drive it as much as possible and keep posting pics!

Congratulations Frank. Beautiful 67 Coupe I see you have knockoffs on it. Looks good. You will definitely sort out any questions you have with that car with the NCRS.
Enjoy it.
Enjoy it.

Congratulations on your buy, and welcome to the Secret Society of Green Sting Rays. We owners of green mid years must stick together. Good to hear you joined up to NCRS.
Even if you never get involved with judging there is no better or faster way to learn about your car than through the resources and people in the club.

thanks all for the warm welcome. i've been lurking for more than a year while i was looking for a car so i know what a great forum this is. of course it's the people here that make it that way.
usmc, so far at least, my trim tag seems to check out ok but the engine pad stamp is a little odd.
the stamp reads: CE9B219982 which i think, decodes as:
CE- chevrolet engine. either replaced under warranty or sold over the counter.
9- 1969
B- Flint V8, in the 3rd run of 50,000(?)
B21982- unit sequence number or 121,982nd(?) made in 1969.
the motor has the breather in the block at the back of the manifold so not a 350(?) given that the car is a '67 and the motor is no later than '69(?) maybe it was replaced while the car was still under warranty. also curious as to how these blocks would have been built up. like what compression, cam shaft etc. hopefully, someone here more knowledgeable can chime in.
65hihp, i didn't set out to find a green car but it's really grown on me. was out at Pensacola NAS for the vettes and jets show put on by the Miracle Strip Corvette club and got a a lot of compliments. btw, another bunch of great people.

Cool beans! I’ve got a ‘67 green/green coupe also. Green interior is rare. Mine is a driver, orig L79, ps, no a/c or pb. I do have power windows though. Mine has sidepipes but not originally. I took the rally wheels off and added black torque flight. Mine runs great and is very reliable. 83,000 miles, seem to be original. Have fun with it.
