For under 10K that is a heck of a nice score!
Dont worry about being upside down after you are finished. Especially if you plan to enjoy it for many years. Most projects like that wind up in the red anyway and its not a mistake If everyone stepped away in fear of it nothing would get restored. You do something like this for the enjoyment and challenge. The mistake I have seen guys make is overestimating their ability to do most or all of a project. If you can do all the things you said you can do you should be in good shape.

Congrats, and I hope it's all you dreamed for.

FWIW, there are several of us here with '65 Corvettes that are here to help with your questions.

Funny! I peaked at your post and said "Hey! that's the car I stopped by and looked at a few months ago!"

The guys lives an hour or so away and he contacted me through a Facebook group.

VERY similar to how my project started! Best of luck to you.

It's an aftermarket front end, put on by the owner before last when he thought he was going to build a racer. It's a one piece, forward tilt design.
