Default 1967 Model Number - meaning

On both my tank sticker and window sheet a model shows as "Model 19467 Corvette Convertible". What does this number mean please? Exp date of prod. 10/21/66. Actual build date was October 26. I thought maybe the "4" referred to the build month, October being the 4th build month for the 1967 model year. . But then it wouldn't be called a model number. Inquiring minds want to know! Thank you...

I'm sure you intend to be helpful, but that's not going to help the OP one bit. Break it down a bit line by line.

First digit: 1 for Chevrolet
next two: 94 for Corvette
next two: 37 or 67 for coupe or convertible
6th digit: 7 for 1967 (model year)
S: built in St Louis
then the number 1 for a place holder on all
and then next 5 digits serial number

I was trying to, but the forum reformatted it, I was retyping it as you responded.
The numbers listed have nothing to do with the build date, but you can decode it with the serial number if you Google.

The "7" doesn't stand alone, and doesn't stand for the year - it's combined with "3" (for "37") for the body style number for a coupe, and with "6" (for "67") for the body style number for a convertible. The sixth digit identifies the model year.

The OP didn't provide the 6th digit and I overlooked it when I retyped when the paste reformatted my copy.

He only provided 19467, that would have been followed by another 7 which was the model year. I corrected my previous post to include the additional 7.
