So, you are retired. What did you do today with your C1 or C2 ?

Lot's of drives out to Crescent and Sutherlin in the summer when I was in High School. Many times you had to go out to the lake just to get some sunshine.

Thanks for posting 911Kolsen. Yes, when the fog rolls in off the Strait, it feels like summer has ended. Have a number of friends here where their family have been on the Peninsula for a long time. Perhaps we have friends in common. Are you still out here?
We love the drive to the Lodge (and look forward to it's reopening) and clearly, East Beach Road is a favorite and then head to Joyce for some pie at the Blackberry Cafe. Wherever you are, stay safe.
Our best to you.

Well, not a C1 or C2 but my C8 was delivered to the dealer yesterday. Picking it up today. I'm excited. I ordered it a year ago. Some pics.

I drove into downtown Norfolk this morning and paid a visit with BB64, the USS Wisconsin. The ship looks great and appears to be in excellent condition.

Well,
Im not retired yet, I have another year or two. (Hopefully!)
But today I replaced the rear main seal in my 63 convertible. The 383 build. It was a minor leak, and I hope I didnt make it worse.
What is it they say, if a jobs worth doing, its worth doing twice? Well I ended up R&R ing the oilpan three times.
Damn Strokers and windage trays! Its easier to set the clearance for the windage tray while its on an engine stand! My windage requires spacers on the studs to clear the rotation assembly, and apparently if those shims get mixed up out of sequence, bad things happen.
Im back on the road, but a one and a half hour job took all day.
Now, hopefully the oil pan gasket seals properly!
On to the next project!

Waiting on rebuilt control arms from Vansteel. Cleaning and prepping parts. Not too satisfied with the rotors. So...

Put in a new battery today.
The Interstate group 24F 700 CCA I had failed after only 35 months.
It was a Costco buy so they gave me a 100% refund no questions asked.
For years I always expected and got great service from Interstate batts but this is the second early failure I know of (son recently replaced one) so bye bye Interstate.
I googled for some info and I saw on one search that Johnson Controls had sold the Interstate battery line to Exide.
Maybe that's the problem?
Replaced it with a Napa group 34 AGM.

Dad and I finished up on a clutch replacement in the '63 today. Took it for a nice little test ride-----shudder is gone, hopefully for good.
I believe a person is born with only so many mid-year trans pulls in him. I think we've used up our allotment!

I was about to post a big thank you to the forum for all the previous posts on temperature senders/switches. My '64 temperature gauge pegged high coming home (after a flat tire no less). I read all the old posts, bought 2 temperature switches, tested them on the stove, etc etc. Turned out the electrical connector on the sender was bad. Although I enjoyed the journey - ever feel like you overthink things? I'll simply drive it today - between the thunderstorms.
