I can't speak of all tanks, but 62 has 2 OEM internal baffles; but in my simple little mind that is only to keep the liquid from shifting side-to-side during hard cornering..

now, as to aeration: take a garden hose and let water fall into a full bucket of water and watch the air that is carried into the water in the bucket from the 'falling' water. then stick the hose into the full bucket, no air...

Thanks for the post very informative!!!, I am about to do the same for my 67 327/300, What I am wondering how did you configure the temperature gauge sensors, I only have one temp sender inlet on the intake manifold as the C2s only have one,

Currently I run electric fan and I installed a temperature controlled triggered switch at 160 on the top radiator hose and the temperature sender on the manifold is still connected to the gauge on the dash. how did you design the system to have the same gauge control the EFI unit and display on the dash. do you simply rely on the LCD display for temp readings? As I understand it the ECU can trigger a single fan, i plan on adding AC so need to trigger primary fan at 160, secondary fan at 195 and still have my manual gauge connected to top of manifold

I moved the temp sensor for the gauge to the radiator. We drilled a hole and TIG welded in a bung to accommodate the original temp sensor. The instructions said the temp sensor for the Sniper EFI system needs to be in the manifold, so that is where i installed it.

I put the Sniper sensor in the intake manifold and the gauge sensor in the forward plug in the driver side head. If you do that just be aware that the normal head temp is higher than the intake temp. My gauge now reads about 190-200, which is norm.

I used a 64-65 350/365HP intake "461" and used water pump bypass for gauge sendor.

I know this is a Sniper post but which do you prefer the Sniper or FiTech?

I’ve never used the FITech, so I can’t comment.

Great write up.
As my project is in parts acquisition/design phase, I have been intrigued by the FI systems and the learning systems with Daytona Sensors ignition systems.
In a recent discussion with a buddy doing a frame off he is running dual flex lines from the front to his tank. Question that came up is where to locate the lines?
His lines are thicker than even the thickest solid lines.
Will 2 flex lines (5/8" od) side by side fit between the frame along the top and the body when set back down?
The biggest concern is at the back rear wheel hump are.
Anyone run a flex line into the frame at this point and come out at the back right next to the tank?

Thanks again to the OP.
As my projects are both frame offs, now would be the time to address new fuel lines.

Bumping this to see if any of you have used the Hyperspark distributor in conjunction with the factory ignition cover? Will the cover clear? I want to add the Hyperspark so that the Sniper can control timing for me, but I’d also like to keep the cover...

thanks in advance.

Just pulled the trigger on this setup, the new EFI in tank pump now does not require for you to replace the tank
The pump is installed via the sender , no cutting nothing cuts the install price way down. 1300 bucks total

I installed the Sniper on my 1969 Camaro SS with a big block. I also used the retro EFI in tank pump so I wouldn't have to run a return line. It works awesome!

You can thank me for having the retro drop-in pump made for the 63-67s. I was on the phone with Holley during my Camaro install and said "why do you seem to have these for every single car except for a mid-year Corvette?" The guy said they get feedback and were always adding models. I checked just last week on the website and noticed they had it listed under "hot and new" with the jalapeno pepper icon! It's on my upgrade list down the road.

Are you planning on adding a cable throttle? I switched the Camaro from the mechanical linkage when I added the Sniper, but I don't see many options for the mid year Vettes.

Now THAT'S an interesting bit of news...a major reason why I haven't considered the EFI is the fuel pump install PITA..

This is the Holley fuel module referenced, but where does the pickup sit in the tank? It looks like it is suspended in the middle of the tank vs. at the bottom. Are you sure this is the correct one for a C2?Also, this still requires a regulator and a return line.

Above (in italics and underlined) was my original post, but it is incorrect. The angle of the picture is deceptive. The bend in the line and the angle of the sock sits perfectly in a C2 tank. Also, the sock is engineered to act as a mini reservoir to avoid fuel starvation and the pump is internally regulated to 58 psi!

This is a real winner and makes EFI incredibly simple!!!

The addition of the in-tank internally regulated pump to Holly's offerings further confirms that you can use the C5 style combo filter/regulator with the Sniper. If you've already purchased your pump and Sniper and haven't gotten around to installing it yet. (Cough, cough).. ;-)
Similar to the new in-tank pump/regulator, you can use your original fuel line as the only line that runs forward to the Sniper throttle body. All that is needed is very short return line from the Wix filter/regulator to the tank. Using this or the new fuel pump/regulator combo from Holley, always remember to remove the internal regulator from the Sniper throttle body in order to prevent issues. Stock Sniper internal regulators are failure prone.

Wix filter regulator 33737 or GM 10299146

Just installed the new integrated pump and regulator I described above, it literally took me 15 minutes, the tank does not have to come out, it was the easiest part of the conversion I am working on fabricating the air cleaner to fit that is taking much longer

It does not have to be that low. The exploding fuel tank remark was off base. When you think about it the fuel tank by it nature has fuel vapors in it that with an ignition source will explode no matter how the fuel return is plumbed. I had my FI Tech system for three years with no problems using a Tanks, Inc EFI tank setup. I also did not use the extra tank vent that came with the Tanks kit since a C2 gas cap is vented. As I said no problems and my garage has never smelled of gasoline.
