Is a complete factory C2 air conditioner worth?
We have a complete factory a/c for a C2 sitting in boxes is the garage after our restoration. My Dad has a friend who is interested in it, but we have no idea what it is worth. What do you guys think? Is it worth anything at all?
Thanks,
Blake

Have you done a search on the various web sites selling parts? Dennis

When I had my resto-mod done 4 years ago and upgraded from the factory a/c to a modern version, I sold my old a/c unit (minus the center vent, which I kept in the car) to a guy from Florida for @ $2500.00.
I was told the center vent ALONE is worth @ $700.00, by a person who deals with resto-mods for a living!
So-----,it IS worth some $$$.
Just my .02 opinion.

C2 of Year Finalist (appearance mods) 2019
A few years back that system was worth between $7,000 and $8,000 Now if it’s a complete system with the center duct and the two lower ducts, with the compressor and condenser it’s more like $4000 if it’s in working order. Unless it’s a real 63 system then it could be worth as much is $15,000

Why would you separate it from the car?

Melting Slicks
The parts with the most value are:
under dash vents
center dash vent
control *****/cables
inner heater/diverter box
STV (not POA)
outer box (evap)
pass. footwell plenum "adapter"
I would be asking $3000 for the above as a group. Good deal for the buyer.
Most everything else would be replaced as a part of the conversion.
ie: condenser, drier, compressor, evaporator, hoses

I can't compute wanting to scrap an original A/C system for a new retrofit, on a (hobby) car whose value is otherwise largely a function of how original to the car are its individual parts. A properly functioning Harrison A6/STV system will freeze nuts, I have 2.

I went with this car simply because it was a factory a/c car. Does not work but everything is intact. Just has a leak that needs to be identified. Not sure I will ever fix but if I do I think it will be great.
I could not imagine removing the parts and liquidating them but if the OP has no plans to ever use why not sell them.
