I believe It was John Z who said the the 63 caps were the most expensive caps to produce for any GM car.

Pat did you restore them your self. I know they are not easy to find in any condition .

Hey To
I actually had two pretty nice sets. I took them all apart, had the flat serfaces polished. Then I cleaned and polished all the littles pieces. Then took the best of the best parts and assembled four of them.

Hope you're not suffering from the heat down there!

Pat

I have, and it sounds great!

I'm trying to download the video, but it's kind of hard when I don't know what the heck I'm doing!

Lol! I am going to notate a short message of the restoration process, complete with my name and address. I'll place it in a plastic bag (which I'm sure will be prohibited by then)!

Pat

They need to extend the battery life with the "air pods" much like they do a pacemaker. This would be an excellent location for one to track down in case of a theft.

No wonder it takes me so.long to do something! So.much time sandblasting the covers. Painting them, then restoring the original screws holding them on! Lol!

Wait until you get hooked on this black oxide, does a real nice fast job…. you will never have to deal with any medium size metal parts, fasteners etc. from getting any rust on them & finish will resemble a very well preserved survivor….

Amazon Amazon

Hey Pat, I have some of that concentrate if you need it. I also have the finishing oil dip that should be used after the cold oxide process.

I have never tried their official cold oil dip, but I have been using wd40 instead, (recommended on a you tube clip:-), so far with good results.
Is there cold oil dip any better just curious ?
thanks
Chalie

Thanks Mike,

I'm getting to the end of things, but I may take you up on that offer!

You need to come over and take a look!

I doubt that their oil is any better than WD40. One could probably use any thin petroleum based lubricant and achieve the same results. 3-1, CLP, Ballistol if you want it to smell nice, etc.

Hopefully this is the easiest oil discussion on this forum.
