Starting Restoration on the '63

I hate installing W/S more then any other job. Messy and getting the glue to not show was a challange. The last job I used 3M W/S adhesive and did not require clamps. Just smear on the door and on W/S and stick. Yours looks very good.

I may have to use a different adhesive as whatever the painter used is coming up in places. Might give the 3M a try. Looking good Pat.

LOL! Yea, I pick these up when visiting estate sales. I come across lots of good old tools, and even a few cars when visiting estate sales. Problem is....when I come across a full set of snap on wrenches for $50.00....I just can't help from buying them! I don't need anymore wrenches! But I simply can't walk away from them when they're so cheap!

I remember reading something similar to that too. There are a lot of pieces to these caps.
I took each cap completely apart and had the disc(s) themselves polished. Now I don't know whether to actually run them or hang them on my wall! LOL!

Hey Con,
I did do a section at a time. The hardest part is the front of the doors as the access is limited. I did the fronts first, then worked my way along the bottom, and finally the back edge of the door (as pictured). As much as I try to keep things in order, that glue finds it's way into unwanted areas. I started using the tape to make a clean edge and it has worked out very well. The key for me is to deploy a fine line of glue on the door as well as onto the weatherstripping itself. I'll place the weatherstripping into the location and then pull it back off. The glue is very "stringy" and I leave it apart for a few moments. Then I put it back into position for the final application. So far, I've had good luck with Corvette Rubber products.
