Got to love the “original” frame reference in the for sale ad.

And he's only asking for a 20K profit! What a deal.

The listing should be flagged...false advertising, stating the frame is original. Striking color combo, and a beautiful car, though.

No surprise - this is what flippers do.

Take some comfort in the fact that if potential buyers do their homework they may shy away from this piece with a non-original frame at that price. The guy may make a few bucks at some point - but you still got "all the money" for it from what I see...and you were truthful about the car...

The '65 frame with the rubber mounts is an improvement over the '63.

What's the hassle?

Just that.... the different frame configurations, especially the big divot for the BB balancer in the front crossmember...

The hassle I see would be it's advertised as original frame. While the '65 frame may be better, it's not what the seller claims is there.

That doesn't offend me. Why would it offend anyone else with the obvious benefit of less road noise and vibration?

That's way too much money for a C2 coupe to start with, no matter what year it is. Don't you think?

If my '63 convertible had a '65 frame under it with the rubber mounts, I'd consider that a plus. Why wouldn't anyone else that likes to drive them?

You might want to post the VIN here, so if a prospective buyer does a search this thread will show up.

Ha! You guys took the bait.

Mike knows exactly what the issue is with a non-original frame...

The ad doesn’t really say original frame if they want to defend their statement. It says the body and floors are original. The frame is restored to show condition. Written to deceive but not untrue if they are challenged. Must be a dealer!

If he was upfront about this, he would have said “Original body and floors. Frame restored to concourse condition. “

The way it’s written, there’s no question, in my mind, that all 3 items are restored originals.

This is where arguments about the differences between an Oxford comma and an AP comma have ended up determining the outcomes of multi-million dollar litigation.

The other piece is whether there is an intent to deceive, but a seller can just claim inexact use of the language.

Heck, a substantial portion of people on this forum don't know the difference between your and you're.
