after all- mine survived being hit by a semi (hopefully this fear isn't one any of you repeat)
Not to get too far into it but in the interests of safety for God's sake wear your seat belt; even with mine tightly fastened I was knocked out, hit my head on the steering wheel to the point it bent the wheel's metal spokes. I didn't die or break my neck, or, get thrown out of the car - because of good SEAT BELTS

absolutely! Truthfully several friends here have recently done the three point conversion and I must do it myself- originality aside I feel better for the family and myself with them.

And try to avoid answering CF posts on your device while driving.

A bad practice....which I never indulge in. The newest iPhone IOS has an additional function in "DO NOT DISTURB" now which detects when you're driving and can automatically respond to calls/messages with canned or customized message responses of your choosing without user interaction.

A valuable feature IMO...

I'm a fossil. When I drive, my flip-phone is in my pocket. If it rings, I let it go to voicemail. When I drive, all I do is drive.....which I happen to actually enjoy. I know I should get into the 21st century and get a smart-phone and get on-board with the latest technology, but it seems like the more technology one gets, the less 'real' time one has!

My "hobby time" is my escape....from kids, grandkids, even my beloved wife and certainly business. I value my time without the "digital tether."... I feel bad for folks still working now with cell phones, seems they are never "off duty"...

Prior to retiring 6 1/2 years ago, I was required to carry a dept. smart phone, pager and radio at all times when I was on duty. I also carried my own smart phone on top of all that. The day I retired, the dept. got all their toys back, I threw my smart phone in the garbage and took off my wrist watch. Life has been much simpler ever since. No annoying distractions.

OK great. But how does that help FtF now? He hasn't thrown his gadgets out. He is on them constantly. Look what happened to his car. His head smashed the steering wheel for god's sake!
And, you haven't said what you think of a white coupe with saddle gut. Do you love it, or not?

I like the white exterior but not the interior. Even though the vast majority of 65 Glen Green cars had Saddle interior, I'm fortunate mine was ordered with black interior. Otherwise I would have passed on it even though it is a 29K mile big block car.

I wasn't on my phone during the wreck....in fact I had to dig it out of the glovebox after the wreck to call 9-11...

You implying I was on my phone and distracted before the accident, and perhaps partially at fault, is not appreciated....

Maybe you should engage your brain a little more before posting and consider the consequences of your remarks...

To be precise:
9-11 was a terrible day in 2001
9-1-1 is what you call when you need help

FTF couldn't have been on a cell phone during his ordeal....Italians need both hands to talk, and you can not drive an early 'vette hands free! I suspect FTF is every bit as diligent when driving his classics as he is maintaining them. He's not known as a sloppy guy.

This is the interior of my car, not that red on red crap.

Frank wanted me to take him for a ride in a real car, not one of those show pieces.

Oh, in case your wondering I am the good looking one in the car.

It looks to me that based on frequency of posting (avg 10x per day over a 10 year membership in one example) that some folks who claim to eschew addiction to electronic devices are pretty well addicted to the Forum itself.

How does one do that without electronic devices?

PS- I consider myself to be a fairly frequent poster, but my average over 13 years is a little less than 2x per day - and , yes, I use my laptop and smart phone to do so.

I agree Glenn. I'm slightly under the 2 posts a day as well. I know I don't compare to the "keyboard experts" on this forum but in reality, I prefer to be in my shop ACTUALLY doing the work rather than posting on the internet about stuff I've never done.

It seems the upholstery issue has been explored completely in this thread.
