LED Lights?
it's question day for me! :-) Anyway... I was considering swapping out my headlights for LEDs for the obvious reason of more light over the OEM lights.
Also, do they shine white/blue or slight yellow tint? I'd prefer to keep the more stock looking yellow tint if thats even possible... but better visibility is critical where i live... out in the boonies where deer tend to play in the roads at night. :-)
Anyone have good or bad experiences here?
Also, I know on my classic pinball machines I've swapped out most bulbs for LEDs because they put out less heat and take less power to run... are there any benefits to swapping other lights on the dash or brake lights to LEDs? I'm thinking it should be the same... less power and less heat??? Again, just looking for peoples experience with LEDs on their C2s.
Thanks!

Have you thought about using Halogen bulbs?
I switched to them 6 months after I first got my car. Big difference.

Halogens, and if you feel the need, headlight relays will brighten things up considerably. LED headlights have been done on C2s but required modifications to fit. More trouble than its worth IMO..

I'll look more into the halogens. I was looking at some of the LEDs and it seems like they make 1:1 replacements now, but they are expensive and I'm not sure if the modern look of LEDs would look silly on a mid 60's car. :-)
I saw in other threads about the relays... can you tell me more about that? How are they installed? Just adding in-line to the power feed?

Gauges look so much clearer, easy to read at night. You wont believe the difference till you experience it first hand,

Thanks everyone! Looks like I have a thread to search and need to look into LEDs for the dash. I sort of figured they would help on the dash... I know what they do for a pinball machine and it's like night and day.

It won't help with the deer but led taillights are a big safety plus for cars coming up behind you.

I switched to LED tail lights and they are much brighter.
Now I feel like when I put my brakes on the guy in back of me can tell I'm stopping.
But for some reason they still pull right up my assss which ticks me off.

Definitely go with the LED Headlights. I did the same as Vettroious; got them off Ebay for about $50 each, minor mod to the Light buckets and the fins on the bulbs - no change to wiring or relays. I also only did the low/high beam, not the high beams. At the same time I did changed to the Detroit Speed light motors. What a difference!

I swapped out the tail lights to LED's - very easy to do but had to get a new flasher switch. I changed out the dash bulbs to LED's - more of a PIA but made a huge difference in being able to see the gauges. I went with new halogen bulbs for the headlights which made a big difference to the ones I had. Can't comment on the difference between LED headlights vs. halogen but I wanted a simple solution without having to modify anything. Anytime I have to modify something, 9 times out of 10 the project will go from a 30 minute job to taking half a day...

As in every single LED thread, promotions for NSVs (Non Supporting Vendors) that have been problematic in the past will be removed, thanks.
