Isn't that where Rocky and Bullwinkle live?

I live just over the Bangor town line in Hermon and work in Bangor.
Looks like a fun loving group.
The good news is the frost heaves will be gone from most of the roads by early June.

This morning I mentioned this thread to a coworker. He and his family lived up there for a while and knows the area somewhat. He likes Moosehead Lake as well. He noted that if I liked the area as much as I claim, I could get me a little bit of seclusion for about 200k for a 1/4 acre lot with a cabin.

Oh, I hope they're gone by then. I'd like my car to last at lease one weekend in Maine without needing a complete detail when I return to Joisey.

You and I are about the same distance. I live near Cherry Hill. If I do the speed limit, it's about 10-12 hours to Bangor both ways. The way I drive, and the time (mostly at night), it's a little less than 8 hours on the way up and still 10-12 hours coming back. Sunday afternoons are killer!!! Especially at the bottom of Maine.
Even so, I would consider property up there. A place to escape and relax.

"frost heaves" are pavements buckling, it's the bugs that will cause the need for detailing...

I thought it was road frost heaves (we have them down here in New Jersey). I forgot about the blackflies and the subsequent need for detailing.

the black flies draw some serious blood... if they're out, you might need a transfusion when you get home..

When the snow finally melts, don't forget to attend the land speed racing held way up north twice a year.

Yesterday, another forum member mentioned that exact thing. Looks like a great opportunity to have some high speed fun.
