Looks like a very solid project with history and documentation.

What kind of headers did he have on it? (interesting looking collectors still in place).

Not sure the brand name on the headers. They are a two peice design They seem well made. Dad has the other halfs of them. might be for sale

I think you should put your Pop's 350 in it and drive the daylights out of it, as is.
