Would You Trade ??
Who on the C1 - C2 Forum would trade car for car, NO monies different your C1- C2 for a 2017 Corvette? I know the C 7 car probably ride nicer and may get better gas mileage and may even go faster but would you really trade your C 1 or C 2 for a 2017 Corvette. To me the C 7 just do not have the WOW factor that the C1 and C2 cars have. If you go to a all Corvette Car Show you will see people look at the 2017 but not for long. They will come and spend more time and ask more questions with the C 1 - C 2 Cars and car owners. For me there is NO WAY I WOULD TRADE, Would U. ??

Your problem is that the C7 novelty has worn off. I see them all the time and the local Chevy dealer has several dozen on hand right now.

Although C7's are great cars, they do nothing for me. Nope. Either you feel it or you don't.

Considering the original purchase price, paint, restoration labor and parts I have in my C1, the cost of a C7 has probably been met and then some. I could sell mine and probably cover the cost of a new model, but have no real interest in them.
I'll always prefer the nostalgic charm and beauty of the C1; the accompanying sensations from driving a timeless classic V8 with a 4 speed are inimitable. Besides, the collective shouts of approval, thumbs up and waves are a welcome bonus. At innumerable car shows, I've seen people walk past a late model to admire a nice C1 more closely. They have a certain "magic" je ne sais pas.
That said, C7's offer truly amazing performance and I wouldn't mind borrowing one for the weekend. My 14 year old would probably love to make that trade!

I really enjoy my C7 Z06. Ridiculous power, but I would not part with my old ones to own one. The new Z will be worth less than the old ones in as little as 2 years.
Now if someone were to offer you a brand new 100,000 car for a 60,000 solid axle or midyear it would merit consideration. You could sell the new one and easily replace the old one and pocket some cash.

Im not sure if the wow factor would be the same on a 2017 as the 67..like others have mentioned..cars shows have a wide variety of Corvettes ..but from what I have observed the C-1's and 2's do attract alot of attention..so I think I'd keep the classic one.

I have had the same offer for my 1962. I also already have a very nice, low mileage C6 convertible that I bought new, so I really don't see the point. I'll keep what I have . . . for now. Eventually I will trade the C6 for something newer - but not this year.

No I would not however, that said, if you want to actually drive your cars like I do, you would be hard pressed to beat a C7. My guess is that the majority of C1-2 owners use them very sparingly like for cruise-ins and cars & coffee type events, which is fine but that's not really "driving" them.
Problem solved for me as I have a 65 coupe and a 16 Z06 convertible to pick from. Disclaimer the 65 has a LS3/tremec 5spd so it gets driven a bunch as well.

Would I trade my $50,000 car for a $75,000 car?

I would have to change my whole way of thinking and personality if I did that. In my town at least, all the c-5s and up have their own little area at our car shows where they set up a private camp and totally ignore the other cars and owners. I'll keep what I got and have a good time at the shows.
