I had honestly said I would get one ever since I was 5 years old and my uncle arrive in his new 63 conv, it only took another 26 years before I finally had the money (for the 66 coupe). Bought my 94 in 1998 at the age of 40 (and it will no longer be mine come Sunday :sad: ), and bought my latest purchase (66 conv) in 2000. Hope to add a 96 Grand Sport in the very near future... :)

bought my first vette when I was 19....69 427-390 with side pipes . Wrecked it. Sold it as is. Later bought a 68,sold it ,bought a 64 coupe,sold it to buy my 66. 45now.

I was 16, bought a basket case 57 283 3-sp flat slicks, caved in pass door, 8-track player cut into the deck lid, one dead cylinder... This was in 1967, and I had that car over twenty years, eventually got it mostly right. Have had a Corvette ever since :flag

I was 16 when I special ordered and took delivery of my SWC. I paid for it from the funds I saved from working since age 11. Yeah, I worked like a dog, but it was worth it, and I made up for it by "retiring" in my mid forties.

Let's see.....about 21, psychologically, when I got blown off my '66 Triumph Bonneville (wish I still had THAT bike) by a frat boy with a trophy chickie in a new '67 triple black BB sidepiper on a back country northern Colorado road.

About 52 when the market delivered enough financially to finally get what I wanted...a '66 BB vert.... :D Damn glad I sold and bought when I did, or today, I might be looking for a hot used ricer....

57 (a few months ago) when I bought my 66 roadster. I've want one since high school. Have no idea why I waited so long.
Reminds me when I was a junior in H.S. and one kid's dad bought a new '61. We were all in awe of the car, but none of us could figure out what an old man (he was, what, 40?) would want with a car like that!

I got my first vette at age 21, right after getting home from the army. It was a '62 that was raced at the track but the motor was replaced before I got it. That was in 1969 and I have been driving vetts ever since.

I got my '64 in 1972 when I was 23 .. My first daughter was born the following year and still gets a kick out of having "come home from the hosiptal in a Corvette" .. It never did come to a situation where I had to offload the car for financial reasons, so I just kinda keep it all these many years later .. :D .. Shoot; doesn't even seem like it's been that long .. ?? ..

I got my first, a 65 conv. in 1970 at 22yrs old. My only car, I had to part with it
upon the arrival of my oldest son in 1971.
The second, a 74, was dog-meat, I only kept it 18 months. I got it in 1997.
I got the last one,a 65 COUPE, in 1999.I plan on keeping this one as my
oldest son and daughter-in-law, and my youngest son all want it!

24 years old. Summer of 1968. Just returned to California from my first tour in Vietnam and used all that hazardous duty pay to buy a brand new maroon, L89 equipped, ’68 convertible. Drove that beast across country (California to North Carolina) five times in the next two years.

I was 50 when I bought mine. I had wanted one since I was 18 at which time I bought a 67 GTO 400 CI 335 HP 4 spd 3:70 Rear Tach & Guages Ralleye I wheels -- dont ask why. Had to put three people through college before I had the chance again. I did not mess up the second time.

My dad and his friends all had m-years when I was a baby/kid. I grew up rolling around in the back of a 64 coupe. Wanted a BB 67 at age 12, bought an 85 in 87 (age 21) had a couple of others working up to my first midyear (yellow 67 BB) at age 29. now have 5 midyears, a wife and 2 kids (9 and 12). as kids get older I am sure the vettes will decrease in number :cry . My dad let all his toys go for his kids, and to show him my appreciation, 2 years ago I got him a black 66 BB roadster (age 57). he treats it better then me!!! :D

My first Corvette was a 1967 Goodwood Green base coupe with saddle interior, that I bought at 24. Just fell in love at first sight and bought it off a used car lot without haggling over the price. The somewhat down side it that I had just spent the previous 8 months working on an offshore oil drilling platform in Alaska, which was sort of a prison surrounded by cold water. I skipped a semester of college to make money for more college and saved $6,700, in 1968 dollars. Then I blew $4,000 on the Vette. But, I made out like a bandit, I loved that car. I had to work weekends again on oil rigs around Los Angeles to stay in college, but at least I arrived at the drilling sites in style!

My first vette was a 93 40th, I was 25yrs old. My second vette was a 96 LT4 I was still 25yrs old, my third was a yellow 96 LT1 I was 26yrs old and now the C5 and I'm 32 yrs old. :D

I was 24, and that was 2 years ago this october. I bought it as a graduation present to myself from school. I had sold many of my toys to pay for flight training and my 4 year. I was looking for a chevelle and came across my 65 coupe and fell in love.

I got my first 65 Corvette in 1971, I was out of the service graduating from college and 27 years old.

It had a mere 97,000 miles on it. A 350 HP four speed roadster.
