Taken back in September; this is my "humble abode", shows the early stages of chassis assembly of my late friend's '69, L71 coupe. Still needed to do trailing arms and calipers at the time. Also doing a brake bleed on my '65 'vert after a new master cylinder was installed.

I dont have any pictures of just the shop, but I have a number that show the shop in the background, here are a few:

A clean organized shop sure makes the projects more fun and enjoyable to work on. I keep all my lawn and garden stuff in another portion of the garage so that the dirt stays out. The daily drivers are kept in another garage. Brian

Default Restored 1930's Auto Shop

I restored an old, abandoned auto repair shop built in the 1930's.

This is what it looked like when I bought it 11 years ago and now...

...this what it looks like, same room. That's a Rotary Lift, manufactured in 1928 that my '66 is on.

In another room before...

...note the Pepsi machine circled to orient yourself and now...

...same space pictured from the same spot after a lot of work.

Here's a link to the whole saga:

http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/s...ad.php?t=51567

... in case you'd like more information. There are several pages and hundreds of before, during and after pictures of the shop and various projects. You might find it engaging.

What a great job done restoring that antique shop. I have the exact same Pepsi machine as that. Takes dime!
And Johnson's Welding is one of the oldest welding businesses in my town as well!

The toolbox in Thomas's post looks a lot like your set up.

Sweet garages/workshops. Mine's a mess....more than usual. We had a tornado come through Monday and it sent a 8"x20' oak limb through it. A couple feet over and it might have went through my 58 vette too.

Thanks,
58n65

The Pepsi machine is a 7 holer Vendo 57 I believe, made in the early 1960's.

I keep it stocked with soda pop. It chills to 38º and it's so quiet you can't even hear it run. Mine use to be a dime too but I've got it set up to take no money. When I bought the shop there was still change in the machine from who knows how long ago.

I've been known to use the '66 convertible to go shopping to restock it. A vintage car for vintage purposes.

Quite a coincidence that you have an old Johnson's Welding shop in town. What are the odds eh?

Sold my '62 this past spring. Still frequent the site though. There's lots of good information.
This was taken on the week-end. I've kind of dropped back a few decades with cars and switched manufacturer (on this side of the shop). They are both GM powered though. The '32's 283 will be getting a '58 Fuel Injection unit currently being rebuilt by Jim Lockwood. I really need to do something with the floor. The prior owner used this side as a wood shop and had painted the floor. It does not hold up well to tire wear.
