Harley Earl 63 Corvette
Does anyone know who the current owner is?
Asking for a friend, who actually drove this car back in the 1980's
IIRC, it was sold at auction for about 1.5 mill 1-2 years ago.

Thanks for the link.
I know that Chip Miller and Bob Gold owned it years ago..... back in the 1980's.
It was sold at Mecum in Chicago in October of 2013 for 1.5 million.
There is a You Tube video of the car going across the block.
When the hammer falls, the auctioneer calls out the names Tim and Tom Chrisman? Christman? Something like that.
Tom Christmann manages the American Muscle Car museum in Melbourne, FL. The museum inventory does not show the Harley Earl car.

That car looks like the one my bud was driving around in the late '70's/early '80's. Same color. Outside exhaust. Stainless door panels and the modified dash.
He said it was his and for sale but I would rather believe the car belonged to Richard Buxbaum in Chicago area.

It is in Florida anyway. It was at a car show in the Orlando area a little over a year ago (November 15 in Winter Park). I have a few great pics of it and a video of it driving off the field along with the 64 CERV II. Same guys had both cars.

what makes it "1 and only"? except for the color the Bunkie Knudsen's 63 corvette looks just like this car. both cars might have been in the Mecum's McDorman auction. ironicly mike terry has just posted a site that has many of the same pictures that I took of the auction and they show the Bunkie Knudsen corvette.

I first saw this car at Corvette Carlisle in the 70's for sale and didn't know what it was. I saw the dual cluster and the side exhaust thought why would someone do that. Every time I see it up for sale I get sick, if only I known!!!!

I actually had to move that car to get at my 55 that was part of the McDorman collection. checkout the 2005 corvettes at McDorman, sept 9-11 and you will see the Harley Earls car was part of his collection. except for the passenger gauges it was almost exactly identical as the (burgundy-red) car parked next to it.

[QUOTE=C2 Hot Cam Guy;1593789483]Its a 1 & only because it was Harley Earls car & all the special mods he had done[/QUOT
I am sorry . People keep sending me messages that the Blue Harley car is not a 1 & 0nly because there is a red car that looks like it. The blue car has a glove box door that has several gauges in the glove box door including a altimeter. I am not sure of other mods . I think its unique. Just my 2 cents

The "Bunkie Knudsen" car is a total misnomer, added as a marketing ploy because Knudsen was the chief at Chevrolet when it was built. For the first year of its life, it was driven by Ed ******* of ******* Beauty Products in the Chicago area, minus the side exhausts. The ride was courtesy of Ed Cole.
