Default rebuilding a 67 stock shifter

after removing the trans, shifter, and bellhousing and inspecting parts before we put the new clutch in dads L79 I took apart the shifter because we know it needs aligned. I noticed the pin that holds all of it in place is grooved badly. would the repro pin LIC sells make any improvement. what other "wear" items would cause the shifter not to be aligned

Probably the interlocks.

The whole kit is $65 but contains the T-handle and a new ball.

Been a while since I had mine apart. I believe the interlock comes in two sizes

Best run a bead of weld around the shifter stick where it mates with the fork block, after it breaks off its too late. The boot will cover it.
