holes under side emblems look like they were for fuel injection badges.

L.I.C. does have the fasteners individually, however they list the 63-67 as the same part number. They might work but, the original 63-64 I've seen are different from the 65-67 (longer). And the original insulation on the 63-64 is much thicker but as far as I know, you can't get that now.

And the plugs are tough to get installed if the holes in your firewall are the original size. It's best to have 2 guys, one to push on the plug and one in the engine bay to gently pull on them with needle nose pliers until they seat correctly.

I'm not sure. No holes in inner fender or large hole in the rad shroud for the FI. air cleaner assembly. Some one may have just had different emblems on the car at one time. Who knows after 50 plus years.

That's bad. Looks like the hole was made with a hammer!

I have found a way to fill small holes easily. Take some 3M strip caulk and form a "rivet " with the material. It can be formed easily from both sides and if done carefully it looks just like a small smooth plastic plug.

No need to grind, fill and paint. (unless you are obsessive compulsive)

Some of you guys that have to find an NCRS reason for stuff are funny

Let's see passenger side holes- good place for hanging your coil so it is not on the engine!
Guys ran their pull choke cables through, right about there!
Other holes elsewhere
Guy mounted alarm systems (speakers, boxes, wiring, etc)
Auxillary fog lights

This post should open up a few closed minds!

No mention of NCRS or even the term correct on this entire thread

Except by one, um.......................

Correct! This is not one of those club cars. It's just my summer car that I drive for fun. I have put on 55,000 miles so far, and have fixed very little. So it's time too catch up on numerous repairs! And since the motor and transmission are out right now I have chance to address some problems, investigate a few issues (holes in firewall) and do a clean up on the engine compartment and under side of the car.
Thanks everyone for answering all my many questions, it's helped a lot.

Dave

I'm sure most of these extra holes are as you and others have said, from aftermarket equipment.
Thanks for the help.

55k? That's great and now you're giving it some attention and building it the way YOU want to. Building the engine?
You'll probably do at least another 155k miles in it.

I put those kind of miles and more on my 67 as a daily driver.

And now I'm rebuilding everything.
Bit, OMG, I'm building it very close to how it came from the factory.

Guess my closed mind needs opened up.

That's funny. But the maintenance thing does catch up to you sooner or later.

Yea but after 55k on a used car, it's expected.
But just think what you'll have when it's back together.

I decided to not only do some maintenance but to do some rust maintenance.

Thanks for the help.
I would fiberglass fill them, by taping a piece of cardboard over the side that is the hardest to get to, so minimum sanding needed on the more difficult side. Just take and mix up some glass and take glass strands of fiberglass and mix that in and fill them with the cardboard backing, then sand.

With the chassis looking that great, you should keep going in that quality direction!

Thanks. Whatever they used to fill these holes has been falling out the last couple of years.

You should taper the edges of each hole at least 1/8th inch with some 80 grit or a large drill bit turned by hand, not in a drill to give the glass more surface area to bond to.
If you just put glass in the sharp edge of the hole the new glass only has that thin edge to bond to and there's a chance it will crack around the hole.
