I don't have a question, but will jump in and say that the Hurst driveline conversions are the best on the market! I've used two thus far with zero issues. I can't say the same about the other company located in TN!!!
Hurst driveline customer service is top notch as well

I'm using a Holley EFI and a T56. The T56 uses a 2 wire VSS (square wave, I think) the Holley likes the Hall effect. What is the easiest way to get them talking?

How do you hook up the neutral safety switch on the Tremec 5 speed?

the only neutral safety switch i see you being able to use on a 5 speed would be your sensor or sensor that comes on most if not all manual cars. It is a switch that comes and is on the clutch pedal which is what tells your computer when the clutch is engaged or disengaged which would allow your engine to turn on. If your car does not have one you will most likely have to get one installed or integrated on your clutch pedal. From what i know you can get them from original parts group..

I'm doing restomod with a 62 and I'll be using a Jim Morrison chassis with a solid rear axle. I'll be using a LS motor, not sure which one. I'm getting conflicting stories when it comes to which transmission to use. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Larry
Thanks,

when it comes down to choosing a transmission we go by what rear gears you have and tire height.Would also depending on what you are going to be using the car for. I would recommend you calling in for more information or have any questions.

I was going to purchase the GM 383/6-spd crate combo for my 1966 'vert with factory 327 and 4-spd. Is there a conversion kit available? I only see an option for the TKO 5-speed. If there isn't a 6spd kit, I'll likely just go with the 5spd. Thanks!

We do not offer a 6 speed for the vetts because you would highly have to modify your floor tunnel and firewall. That's the main reason why we don't and why people don't want to do a 6 speed. If you have any questions give us a call and can definitely help you out.

OK, what is different between the kit for a SB and a LS? Just wondering, I was thinking of going LS or LT in the future, but getting a 5sp would come sooner LOL.

purchasing a new 5 speed Tremec
i have been thinking about purchasing a new Tremec 5 speed for my
66 corvette with a 350 small block. i currently have a Muncie 4 speed.
My biggest concern is the price of the transmission. Why does the
Tremec for a corvette cost $4000.00 when the Tremec for a mustang
only cost $2500? i just dont understand why the corvette Tremec is
so much more than Mustang? Also need to know what the difference is
between the TKO 500 and the TKO 600 is? which one is cheaper?
also i was considering a Doug McCleod 5 speed which i was told was
a lot cheaper than a Tremec? but i also heard that the McCleod 5 speed
have had a lot of problems with them as far as shifting?
i dont think i want a McCleod if it is going to have problems with it after i install it? Also was considering trying to buy a used Tremec
but i cant seem to find a used one for sale? i guess even if i buy a
used one i might inherit someone elses problem or nightmare?
i just cant seem to justify spending $4000 for a new transmission even
though i know i would love it and probably be really happy?

the main things that are different in the kits would be flywheel and bell housing other than that everything else would be the same. As to flywheel it will all depend how your engine is setup but those two would be the major difference besides mechanical or hydraulic clutch kit.

Hello Bk,
the reason why the corvette transmission is more expensive is because it has to get machined and modified for the sidewinder shifter. That's the only reason other than that you would be paying the regular price without it, but wouldn't work on the Corvette.
