So sad to hear this news. JohnZ always gave facts, truth, and generous free help. I loved the stories of working in the assembly plants, drag racing, etc...He will be greatly missed by many.

It's hard to imagine the Corvette hobby without John. Look in the archives of any Corvette or Camaro forum and you will see, Mr. Hinckley has always been the go-to guy whenever there was a question of how things were meant to be done. There is no one else who has the intimate knowledge of the cars we all love, and the willingness to share it that John did, with all who wanted to know. This forum will certainly be poorer in his absence.
Wishing the best for John and all those closest to him.

I hate to learn this latest news. BUT, where there is faith, there is hope and miracles to continue to happen. We're all standing with you John.

John did SO much for all of us. So selfless and full of encouragement for us and these silly cars which give us all so much enjoyment. Thank You, John. And thank you to his family.

You guys have so beautifully covered John, not much else to say other than he will be missed terribly.
So many of the posts here ended when John answered because his information was perfect, covered all needs and included the pictures, history and instructions how to ease your repair. Well, there was always one more response. A huge Thank You from the member in need.
I hope there are car adventures in heaven, I'm sure John will be first in line.
He certainly earned the right. I never met him but respected him immensely.

I never knew John personally or even met him, but from what I've read about and directly from him, I imagine he is a friendly and caring individual and was one that would freely provide experience and knowledge in this hobby. He will truly be missed.
I wonder if the mods or editors of the forum would create a sticky here in the c1/c2 section to honor him and fill it with his posts from his corvette experience over the years. Call it the John Hinckley sticky. So his knowledge and experience will forever be available to those who seek guidance.

I am hoping for a miracle too. Over the last few years, John has helped me tremendously with a project of my own. He shared his health issues with me, but I was shocked to learn things took such a turn to the worse. I'm hoping for the best for this great man.
