Default OT - Outside my office today

Pulled into the parking lot, and here was my view today:

USS Zumwalt, DDG-1000. Just left the Bath shipyard in Maine. This was their first port call. Naval Station Newport, RI.

The tour inside was amazing!

Wtf is it? A destroyer?

What did it cost me to build?

It's cool looking and if I was the enemy I would probably think twice about engaging it.

Can you say, SLIPPERY? I bet that thing is almost invisible on radar or whatever systems are out there in use. Dennis

On radar, it looks like a fishing boat.

They have to hang radar reflectors on it in peacetime so no one runs into them.

Four trillion dollars???!!! Yikes! Maybe thats supposed to be in billions? Well, I guess thats a relative bargin compared to the latest aircraft carrier which IIRC was stated to cost 17 billion.

"On the "long scale," one billion is 1 million million, or 1 and 12 zeroes (1,000,000,000,000). The long scale is still used in some European countries".

Unlike giving 33 billion to an enemy...as one certain potus did...

Could've built 6 more with that money and the enemy would've paid for it...
