59-62 Rear Strut Rod Bushings
Hi Everyone,
I purchased four GM part# 3764839 about 3 years ago from my Chevy dealer. These are the 59-62 rear strut rod bushings which press onto the strut rod. The rubber about 6 months ago started to crack. The parts had small stickers which said made in Mexico on them. Can anyone tell me of a company making these in the USA? I am tired of buying crap THANKS!!

No help here, but I'll confirm this. Somehow, the 100+ year old formula for rubber has been forgotten in the past 8 years or so. The new stuff perishes very quickly.

Bill, You are not kidding !
Bought a set of bike tires 2 years ago to replace a set of original 45 year old Raleigh bike tires (original) on a vintage bike I don't ride too often. Got sidetracked and was going to install them and they were all dry rotted in the wrappers (stored in a cool dry place). Filled up the old tires with air and went for a ride.
OP, I would suggest you try and source some NOS of the original older GM ones. They made plenty of them back in the day as they also fit the C-2 Strut rods
