My original radio has never been restored and works great on AM , but I added a Pioneer re-molt radio and CD changer in the truck . I wanted to keep the original radio and look , most people cant see it and thinks the AM radio is working

Hi Roy, thanks for reply. You sent me some pictures a few years ago on headlight wiring location which were very helpful. Thanks again. Apparently you still have the 55, that's cool, there's getting to be fewer of us left.
I thought about the remote location for a modern unit and still may go that route. I was looking for a conversion on my stock radio to retain the old look but have the newer features. I found a business in SC that will do it for $750 which seems high for converting my existing radio.
Anyway, thanks, maybe someone out there knows someone who can convert an existing radio for a more modest figure. Actually I don't need the FM conversion, just the ability to hook up an MP-3 player. Maybe RediRad is the answer.

Don't mess with the original 55 radio it's worth $3000, just put it away or better do what I did
