There are no "cons" IMHO, especially if you own a coupe. Sidepipes allow the interior of the car to stay substantially cooler in the summer...no radiant heat thru the floor. And, they're not THAT loud...more like music

Pros - Looks and sound. Cons - Narrow pipe results in restrictive exhaust. Bottom line, I have them added to both smallblock midyear coupes and like them for the looks and sound.

Ride in a car with them. Then make your choice. Make sure you get on a road that allows you to stay the same RPM for a while. Value is a loaded question

Been listening to mine for 42 years. Sweet music as you row through the gears. Dennis

Interior much cooler, free access to any part under the car, no roasted underbody fbrglass, fewer parts to deal with.

Looks and sounds good on any MY.

Love them, a midyear looks naked to me without them!! On a long drive the drone bothers the wife, so roll up the windows and turn on the A/C. Problem solved...

They look great, but for sound I plan to never have another unless it's a fantastic bargain. It's fun for a while, but grows old. Loved it while I had it, but will go stealth next time.

I had them on several Sting Rays that I owned, and I always loved them.

For me they only got loud if I drove the car on a road trip for more than 3 hours. Most people don't use C2s like that any more.

Some say they get hot and they burn their leg getting out. I'm not sure how this happens, because mine never got that hot. I even ran some without the insulators.

If I ever own a Sting Ray again it'll have them.

I realize I am in the vast minority here, but I never liked them. Don't like how they look, don't like how they sound., and wouldn't have them on any Corvette. Well, maybe one of the original Grand Sports, but that's a whole other animal. Just my opinion, of course.

Pros: Love the look! Easier to work on certain areas of the underside of the car.

Cons: Don't perform as well and, most are way too loud.

Addendum: As far as heat is concerned, a good exhaust wrap will reduce underside exhaust heat transfer dramatically!!! Ask me how I know.

The 67 Coupe I have owned for 43 years came OE with them. Never regretted the car was so equipped. The single speaker AM/FM radio is so, so with regard to music but the sidepipes provide enough music so I don't really care.

I personally like the way the cars look without side pipes but it comes down to personal preference. I heard that Side Pipes don't flow as well as straight exhaust. Either-way, it's a midyear and all things midyear are awesome!

I think the midyear looks cleaner without. But if I ever got one that had them, so be it.
