Rolled the odometer today
Good Friday, no work. Daughter home early.
Took her out for another stick lesson and had her behind the wheel (intentionally) when the odometer rolled past 99999.9. Something she'll always remember I hope.

Fantastic to both of you gentlemen!
Nothing like passing the torch. When my kids are old enough, I'll ensure they know how to drive a manual.
They already know how to field strip and reassemble a rifle...
Well done!

Very cool. If you post again, you'll roll another number.

Awesome! Great photo that's Priceless. With the odometer reading 00000.0 is like driving a new car.

That first picture is awesome; particularly the way the ammeter is centered in the hole in the steering wheel spoke

Enjoyed reading the comments. To SpartyGW I bet she had a grin ear to ear. I know I do when I have one of the toys out. It's all about the kids. There the future of the old car hobby. Mine will have to wait till there a little bigger to go on a more serious ride. Picture was taken last year after I bought the car from my aunt. Just finished getting it roadworthy after sitting in her garage for 10 years. Uncle restored it in the eighties. Special car. Memory wise. 1960 with a hot 283, and a hurst shifted muncie. Took the kids around the cul-de-sac nearby. Fortunately I was in a position to purchase the car. No one else was getting my uncles Vette, plus my cousin might want his dads car back some day. Sorry for the long post. Emotional moment.

My 5'5, 105lb, 35 year old daughter drives my original '61 like there is nothing to it. With proper training on steering methods, proper shifting, a well-maintained steering and clutch configuration, etc.. these cars don't have to be a PITA to operate. People coming to a dead stop to park and then manhandling the 'school bus' steering wheel to move the tires makes me laugh. Just by keeping the car moving slightly you reduce tight steering condition effort by boatloads.
All the whining about no power steering and gorilla springs gets old.
