Bench Test Horn Relay

If you have a schematic of which terminals are which, it would be easy. All you need to do is connect 12 volts across the coil terminals, then check for continuity on the contact terminals. I don't have a schematic, so I don't know which terminals are the coil and which ones are the contact terminals.

I believe that is a 3 terminal relay. One terminal will have a red wire or wires attached, one terminal will have a black wire attached and one will have a green wire attached. Put 12V on the terminal with the red wires and ground the terminal with the black wire. The terminal with the green should now have 12V. If the relay is out of the car and you are truly "bench testing", check the car for the wire color locations of the terminals.

Found some additional info. Hold the relay with terminals facing you. Center terminal is hot, right side is horn button and left side is horn. So 12V to center, ground to right, should have 12V on left.
