One fool, two birthdays, one looking better
...in it's old age
A little more than two weeks ago (March 15), I celebrated my 50th birthday. Today, April 1, the '65 coupe I have owned since 1983 celebrates its special day.
My dad and I brought the car home in three pickup truck loads in the fall of '83 and got it back together and running, and I drove it for a few years. Then it sat in his garage with the 1994 license plate in the car (never installed) until 2013, when it was treated to a body off restoration. It is so much fun to have her back on the road! Powerplant is currently a 454. It had a 396 in it when I got it, although the car was originally a 327/350. Added a TKO 5 speed last fall, and am loving it.
The modifications (fender flairs, extra tail light) were done long before I got the car. Believe it or not, its actually closer to stock now than before the resto.
I hope you enjoy the pictures, and if you see her on the road today, wish her a happy birthday!

Happy B-day to you both!
Not a big fan of flares but I must say the ones on your car are tastefully done. Very nice.

Weird, I too just turned 50 on Mar 15th. Bought my 67 in 86 when I was home on leave from Japan. That's one bad assed looking 65 you have. Glad she's back on the road.
