I never thought I would be interested in a new C car, but this one has me intrigued. That supercharged LT4, at 34xx lbs with 650 HP, and 1.1x G skidpad, I am having a hard time resisting the urge.
If I succumb, I PROMISE I will not start wearing gold chains and wearing Hawaiian shirts with the top three buttons undone.
The $100K doesn't bother me, but the costly AZ yearly registration fees, does kind of.

The forum member that sold me my split window just bought one.
Apparently the temptation was too much....

Definitely sounds like an E ticket ride.... I may be better off finding some exotic car renatl aplce and paying them $1000 for a days use,and get it out of my system. Or, that may just push me over the edge...

great performance but ugly cartoon exterior and even uglier instruments or course the under 45 crowd loves it so to each their own....for me wouldn't buy one for $1000

I'm quite a bit older than 45 and I like the exterior of the C7 a lot, especially the taillights.
I'll probably buy one; I'm just not sure if that means selling the '69 or not, for space and time considerations. The split goes no place.

I like em'. I think Chevy succeeded in doing what they set out to do with the C7.
I thought long and hard... well maybe it was just a few minutes, before I bought my 67'... I could've ordered a new '14.
But, at the end of the day, I have wanted a C1/C2 for 35 years... and only wanted a c7 for a few months.
No regrets...my 67 wins.
But if I could Afford both, shoot... I'd have both!

How many people can drive a c6 at it's limits and therefore need the c7 advancement? Many people THINK they can. I never could.

I have a friend who has owned a 65 396 for 27 years. The car won nearly every WSCC Stock competition it was entered in.
The car was absolutely perfect.
Without much hesitation... he drove it to a dealer here in Northern CA and without much fanfare traded it straight across for a new C7. Not a Z06 but still a beautiful car loaded.
Everybody walked away happy... he is still smiling and told me doesn't miss the old ride at all.

Does your current car ride like a buckboard? If not, be prepared to feel - in your teeth - every expansion strip, tiny pot hole, and whatever else a less than perfect tar strip will offer up.

Buy a slightly used ZR1. You save some money, just as fast and much better looking. If you are a large guy, you will like the ZR1 seats better. They are selling like hot cakes so there are lots of folks who like them. I have 3 friends who have them already.

That come with rubber band tires.
When i went from 14" wheels and typical 1980 tires on my Ferrari, to 17" wheels with the same tire height, I could really tell the diff in the shorter sidewall tires, you know about every tar strip you cross.

Just 1 word: Depreciation
I would have a hard time trading even up for one. As soon as it is driven off the dealer's lot the C7 drops in value. The C2 will continue to hold its own or even appreciate. Not that I'm into the hobby for the money but I really don't like buying depreciating assets. To each his (or her) own.
Also, I am not sure I have a desire to drive my '66 at its limits, let alone a C7.

I don't know about the C7 Z06 but I have a C6 Z. Heck of a nice car--and the power, like right now and keeps on pulling. Can only imagine what the C7 would be like.
In a perfect world it would stay but has to go in prep for a SW.

This has been a big discussion for me and as much as I like my 64 it would have to go for space reasons for a Z06. I am tempted by a car I can drive to the track, have at it and then drive home. No trailering. I have a business deal that if it happens I will probably get one later this year. Pretty remarkable car.

I agree with you! The C6 ZR1 is my pick. You get all that HP for less money and only slightly used. It looks better to

Just to be clear, even though I dislike the C7 I am happy for those that do and maybe they will cross over someday to keep the previous generations of vettes going and I appreciate all corvettes even if they are not for me. Also I own a BBC2, SBC3 and a driver 03Z06 and would like to step up or add a C6Z06 when I sell my C2, that is is the wife lets me.

To me the styling of the C7 is driven by todays high end sports car market. All the scoops are functional. It doesn't look dated and doesn't carry over any distinct styling cues from past generations (not even the taillights ). The performance level compares to cars that cost much more. Performance beyond the capability of many owners, myself included.
I still would love to have a C7 Z06 (make mine Laguna Blue) but it's not even close to being within my reach financially. By the time a used one that is within my reach becomes available it would be out of warranty and who's fixing these cars if something goes wrong with all the high tech electronics? Worse yet at what expense? For now it's a dream. It's kind of like being a kid again and dreaming of owning your 1st Corvette. Maybe some day and I'm OK with that.
