Default 56 Corvette survey

Hi all;

I am doing research on 1956 engine sequence numbers as they relate to VIN numbers, and possibly casting dates as well.

To that end, I would appreciate it if anyone that owns an original 56 Corvette would please send me the following information.

VIN number:
Engine Sequence Number: (the seven digits stamped on the engine pad before the engine suffix code)
Engine block casting date:

I have about 45 entries already from Mike Hunt's 56 data that he sent me many years ago.

You can post your data here or send in to me in a private message or email. My email address is emccomas57@gmail.com.

Many thanks in advance for all of your consideration.

I know you asked for 56, but you can add this to Mike's 57 data.

My 57 VIN # E57S101247. Assembly commenced Fri. 12-7-56 finished Tues 12-11-56. Block stamp F1026FG. RED.

Ed,

Not sure if you still have the info on the '56 I used to have...

VIN: E56S004434
Monday September 17, 1956 (or Friday the 14th)
Engine Stamp: 059I8 50F56FK
Engine Casting: 3720991, F76 (June 7, 1956)
Engine Assembly: June 27th, or a couple days later

https://www.c1registry.com/index.php.../ULud2P16Gtg==

Remember the correlation between my cars VIN and engine was probably different that most because it was a powerpack (1x4).

Alex
