Default On the 1961 Corvette Gulf Oil racer driven on street in NY state

On the posting regarding the guy with the former Gulf Oil Corvette ('61) driving it on the street and trying to sell it at a swap meet, has it been printed in any article how much he paid for it and how he found it? Maybe Gulf Oil had a sale and he was an engineer on the inside and first to know it was available. Like to hear what he sold it for...though that car wasn't as victorious as the '62 I think it has a better story on how it was available but no one realized it was a genuine race car backed by a multi-milllion dollar corporation

Welcome back, HB! You do ask some of the neatest questions, I seriously want to buy a copy of the book when it is written if it covers all the topics discussed on the forum.
