rechroming bumpers

I used Virginia Vettes....some will tell you their work is more like the original chrome look and not really "show quality"..... e.g. perfection with no waves as original etc.
Couple hundred a corner and 2-3 week turnaround - works for me...

C2 of the Year Finalist - Modified 2020
Look up Paul's Chrome and Labrandi's. Both in Pa and do VERY nice high quality work that lasts. I know, because Paul's did my bumpers, and Labrandi's did my vent window frames both in 1986. Today, they still look new coupled with about 90-95K miles. Dennis

I just had mine 63's done by Virginia vettes Great job. 2-3 week turn round.199.00 a corner.. I have also used Pauls chrome when I was doing show quality on my 57 & 58 but twice as much money and a long wait.

I have used librandi's for vent windows and instrument bezel, very good job. I think they charge $320 for C2 bumpers whereas V.V. charges $200. I've gotten prices as high as $450 from Paul's chrome.
Prestige6 or anyone else, can you comment on the quality of the chrome from V.V. vs. Paul's or Librandi's or even a Paragon repo. bumper? I'm looking at a '59 project which will need rechromed rear's, but didn't want them to look better/or worse than repo front parts from paragon.

Crowd Plow For Now
I'm another VA Vette's customer for the re-chrome.
Good price, quick turnaround

Virginia Vettes is more of a driver quality chrome. Unless things have changed, you will see streak marks in the bumpers and the chrome job will only last a few years before fading.
I recently used Paul's chrome for two rear bumpers and they are immaculate. If you want show quality with a decent turn around time, Paul's is the way to go. It was 500.00 per corner, but well worth it in my opinion. The bumpers they re-chromed for me had previously been done by virginia vettes.

Opinions vary - the rear bumpers on my '63 were done by VV in 2009 no streaks and look fine. My '61 bumpers -- pictured in the thread above have no streaks and have been on since 2011 at 5,000 miles annually - no fading.
I think its how much you want to spend, how long you want to wait and does an 'original' look fit your needs...

Best to call and discuss with Dick Barron. They did get some small dings out of my '63 front bumpers during rechroming and they look great now.

Librandi's plated my bumpers and vent window frames. The work they did is unbelievable! They are not that expensive considering the work they provide. They definitely have my vote.
