This is correct! I can change oil, spark plugs, rotate tires and drive the car. Anything beyond that would require YouTube help and/or a good and trustworthy Corvette shop. Haven’t looked for the latter yet but I’m in metro Atlanta so chances are good there’s a decent shop somewhere around here.

the same questions you have about a state issue vin or salvage tittle car the next buyer(s) will have. to expect a seller to discount a price by half or quarter is laughable at best. you might be able to use those points for negations but there is no way your going to get it a fire sale. the sum of the parts is worth more then half. both cars can be campaigned in NCRS for flight judging with those vins.

Good to know. As I said I’m new to this world and trying to figure things out, so I appreciate your knowledge. Ok, so if not a quarter discount what would you think is reasonable? Five percent? Ten percent? I mean certainly no one would pay the same for these as for a matching numbers car with a perfect VIN and title, right? I’m just trying to determine what the corvette world thinks the difference should be. Again, appreciate your help in this area.

It was close enough to the end of the auction that I just figured I’d let it play out. It ended today with me as the high bidder at $41.961 (get it?). However eye reserve was not met, so no sale. Then Hagerty’s called me and said the owner was willing to sell at the reserve which I gladly met. Have some paperwork to do and a wire transfer to complete, and within a few weeks I should have my hands on a 1961 C1 convertible. Maybe I paid too much considering the state issued VIN and high mileage, but honestly I’m super excited and just don’t care!

Safety Car
Nice looking car with no details or pictures of mechanicals. At the price listed there is likely something wrong with the car or it's a scam .

That above '63's front end is a mess. I get that they weren't perfect, but plus or minus a half inch???? How could a body guy or owner accept that?

But, I have no doubt that the original post is a scam.
