When you find that reputable Corvette shop tell the owner/folks there what you are looking for and that you will want an inspection and future work done. Then look for Corvette clubs in your area and go for a visit. Start gathering information.

Good to know. As I said I’m new to this world and trying to figure things out, so I appreciate your knowledge. Ok, so if not a quarter discount what would you think is reasonable? Five percent? Ten percent? I mean certainly no one would pay the same for these as for a matching numbers car with a perfect VIN and title, right? I’m just trying to determine what the corvette world thinks the difference should be. Again, appreciate your help in this area.

It was close enough to the end of the auction that I just figured I’d let it play out. It ended today with me as the high bidder at $41.961 (get it?). However the reserve was not met, so no sale. Then Hagerty’s called me and said the owner was willing to sell at the reserve which I gladly met. Have some paperwork to do and a wire transfer to complete, and within a few weeks I should have my hands on a 1961 C1 convertible. Maybe I paid too much considering the state issued VIN and high mileage, but honestly I’m super excited and just don’t care!

If that Corvette gets caught in the rain no wipers are the least of it's issues. RainX could help.

With all that stated power I would be more concern with traction.

Nice looking car with no details or pictures of mechanicals. At the price listed there is likely something wrong with the car or it's a scam .

That above '63's front end is a mess. I get that they weren't perfect, but plus or minus a half inch???? How could a body guy or owner accept that?

Those don't appear to be the same car. One has a 4-speed and no radio, the other is a Powerglide with a radio.
But, I have no doubt that the original post is a scam.
