I’ve seen at least one car go across the block at one of the TV auctions with the supposedly original tank with the sticker separated from the car. And the $20k value placed on the tank sticker would only apply to a VERY special car IMO.

Yes, I did this. That way the tank sticker is intact in all its glory!

The official response remains "check back soon" and "ask your regional representative."
When I contacted Al he’d only do an evaluation for the owner. Not a Pre-purchase for a potential buyer. But the seller of course could have it done for a potential buyer. I’m sure he ran into some legal issues doing Pre-purchase Evans.

Sometimes when you look at a tank sticker it's coffee and a microwave that made it brown not aging for years on top of a gas tank.

How does this work if the last three numbers on the VIN are less than 500? A VIN like that, minus 500 would be a negative number?!?

Your VIN and tank sticker numbers look good (good correlation) for a late June/July built car.

So is my cars vin ends in 134 and the tank sticker job number is 132. Can anyone make this make sense?
Since it is less than 500 would the two digit less apply.

MR427390, is your car an AO Smith body? My '67 AO vin ends in 194 and the tank sticker job number is 193.

The 132 is a SEQUENCE number on the tank sticker... not a JOB number (those are the crayon marks in different panel locations).
Your 'two digit less' difference between the SEQUENCE number and VIN number, is not unusual... nothing to be concerned about.

Has anyone seen a tank sticker from 1967 that the color of the body and paint code are crossed off and hand written with a new code and color and dated and signed by I assume a assembly person?
Like maybe the wrong painted body married up with the chassis on the assembly line
